I really appreciate this review in that he's not afraid to tell his opinion, that said o disagreed almost entirely with his review other than the not paying attention on how i was fighting battles until i died the first time. the rest i disagreed with, especially the fact that he wanted the game to be dark, that's just not the way kingdom hearts games are and i appreciate that square didn't go this.route. i also disagree with the score of course but it's his opinion

A bit like Videogamer.Com? A shadow of its former self? Jokes aside, thegames great, no idea how they came to a 4/10. That's Kingdom Hearts though, you either get it and love it or you don't. I find it a lovely break from all these gritty and edgy AAA games people drool over.

Commenting on comments. Reviews are worthless. They're one person's opinion in a world of many. You want an honest review, play the game yourself. Oh, you don't have it to play? Watch about 30 minutes of someone playing it on Twitch. Yeah, it might spoil a thing or 2 - you'll live, but you'll get an idea if it's something you think you would like. That's what I did before I bought it. No regrets.

There goes any chance of it hitting a 90 on Metacritic.

4/10 is a giant mess and broken game. There's no way KH3 fits that description

Definitely disappointing, but a 4/10 reeks of clickbait

It's true that 4/10 is very low and the game doesn't deserve it but, for now, i'm finding less funny than the other chapters. I don't know why but for me it has a different "feeling". Maybe because i'm still at the beginning :P but i played the other ones a lot, i looked forward to be home to turn them on and continue with the story. I'm talking about the main chapters, I and II. With this one it's not happening... it's just my experience, of course.

Besides all of this, 4/10 is a joke. I would give it at least 7/10 (and i would give I 9/10, II 8.5/10).

Review coming from someone who truly loved the first two games and felt that the later games where ok:

pro's:
+ Nice graphics!
+ Camerawork is way better than previous games
+ Nostalgia (not a legit reason, I know)

cons:
- Boring worlds that feel more like big tunnels you have to fight your way through. Also the worlds have little to do with the main storyline. There is no real reason to visit them, no keyholes to lock or whatever.
- No real reason to return to any of these worlds (second story, new locations, unlocking chests by using a new ability)
- Too easy, even on proud mode. They should've ditched the Disney ride nonsense and focus more on using skill instead of watching shiny and splashy things on your screen.
- Lack of Final Fantasy characters. If someone asked me what Kingdom Hearts was back in the days, I would say: Disneys meets Final Fantasy.
- The Gummiship part feels unnecessary.
- The writing is very poor. Not even talking about the light/darkness babbling, I can deal with that. But I think you would need to watch the Disney movies to understand what the real meaning behind the Disney character's actions are, otherwise you'll be scratching your head alot of times. In defense, this has always been the case with the games.

And even though I seem to be pretty negative about the game, I would still give it a 6,5 out of a 10. I guess it's not that bad, but it could have been so much better. It's a bit of a let down that this is the last game of the saga.

i don't usually use retarded as an insult... but oh boy, this reviewer is in that mental spectrum

for me the game has only three major cons: lack of FF characters, no coliseum.like minigame and radiant garden relegated on cutscenes only, things that are easy to solve by doing a "final mix" DLC.
also, more areas in twilight town and critical mode can be added as well.
still, the game is at minimum an 8/10 (marvelous gameplay and soundtrack, a bit easy even at proud mode but i don't care seriously, the bosses are still in the medium difficulty, the story is always like that since KH1, you love it even with his cheesyness or you hate it even when it's emotional, and i love it, a lot of extra stuff to do is a huge pro for me, the gummiship part is fun in the end, the worlds are mostly beautifull and pretty huge (the carribean is my favourite) and last but not least the graphic is very impressive.
and that's mostly an objective opininion, that kind of opinion you should have when you write an article that can impact the meta score, subjective opinions should stick to facebook posts/twitter posts...
4/10 is for incomplete mess games, like fallout 76 or the quiet man, or games that are just GaaS with shitty practises on it, like call of duty BO4 (multiplayer only game with microtransactions selled as a AAA game? fuck off activision) or EA games in general, not kingdom hearts 3.

Game journalist or critics should not dictate any gamers purchase. The reviews for games are getting worst imo this gen. KH3 and CD3 look like their very fun games can't wait to play them both.

I'm not sure about KH3 yet, I haven't played it, but everyone that clicks on the review is just as bad as the writer... You're actively paying these guys for a rage click bait review because you can't just walk on by.

I have more respect for this score than the 10/10 reviews. The game is glaring with obvious flaws, and it still plays like a stiff PS2 game unwilling to grow a bit with its audience. Also, horrible decision to strip down the final fantasy content to a minimum. Should have been called Kingdom Hearts: Pixar.. I would give it a 6/10

The meta score went from 88 to 86 just because of this crappy reviwer.

While he is welcome to an opinion, as is everyone, and has valid points about the gameplay, and the games overall lack of difficulty even on Proud Mode. I feel his obvious personal dislike for Organization XIII (the main antagonists for the entire series, first introduced in Chain of Memories, spanning at least seven games and also present in everyone's beloved Kingdom Hearts 2) seems a little off the mark.

His comments on the story also bring his review down, it sounds like his complaints are coming from a person whome has not followed it through from start to finish. It would be like reading the 7th and final Harry Potter book and commenting on Horcruxes being hard to understand and wishing this Voldemort guy would just "shut up".

Personally while I agree with his sentiment on the gameplay and difficulty, and I also miss the old reaction commands, as someone who has played every title in the series I'm not finding the story or the Organization and the "babble" they speak difficult to follow at all, or nonsensical as it all ties back to previous games in the series, as a sequel should. Fingers crossed for a satisfying conclusion to the first Kingdom Hearts story arc when I get there and a sneak peak at the next chapter as every previous game has given in its secret movie.

I think this series is very 7 or maybe 8 out of 10. The gameplay is fantastic. The music is excellent. The story is fucking stupid. I would never pay full price for it but I'll certainly own it at some point.

Of course it's not going to be better than the 1st game. The problem is everything after the 1st game just becomes a convoluted mess.

Rubbish review there's nothing broken about this game not every game needs to be open world. All his complaints are null and void 8f it was upto me I'd have them arrested!

It's a shame I just can't seem to get into this series... I mean, I played to first one, but I struggled to play it. Maybe I need to just sit down and really give myself time to play this... or maybe it's just not meant for me? I'd really like to follow this series.
