Resident Evil 2 demo had some issues with HDR and it seems to have carried over to the main game as well.

Capcom has announced and released the original Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 on Steam.

Capcom recently released Resident Evil Requiem, and it's been so successful that it's seemingly dragging along every other Resi game with it.
That's certainly true in the UK; the latest physical retail charts have come in, and the top 10 includes five Resident Evil games across all platforms.

This month, unleash brutal finishers in the reimagined Mortal Kombat 1, swing through Marvel’s New York skyline as the iconic web-slinger in Marvel’s Spider-Man, or gear up to repel swarming alien forces in Earth Defense Force 6. All these titles and more are available in August’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalog lineup. That includes Sword of the Sea, which releases day one into Game Catalog. Meanwhile, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis bring retro survival horror to PlayStation Plus Premium. All titles will be available to play on August 19*.
Not what I want to hear! It worked great in RE7 and when HDR is done right it makes a big difference. GOW, HZD and Shadow of the Colossus are some great examples of how HDR can make the experience even better. Hopefully Capcom can fix the issue.
can you turn off HDR in the options menu?
Turn it off. you get deep blacks with it off. On looks grey and washed out. I tried HDR on both ps4 pro n x1 and it's the same across-the-board. turning it off makes it look perfect. I don't think capcom knows how to implement HDR because even in Resident Evil 7 it wasn't that good. it looked better with it off.
Smh.
