In terms of amount of software sold Nintendo will absolutely destroy Microsoft and Sony and most if not all other publishers out there in 2019. I think they will just edge out the Hardware side of things as the Switch is just hitting it's stride now whilst the other two are in a natural decline.

Animal Crossing alone will outsell TLOU2, Ghost of Tushima and Death Stranding "combined . I'd be willing to put a 100 on that now, not to mention the Switch has about 10 other huge exclusives on the way.

This is a sensible prediction from a neutral, analytical point of view. They will dominate software sales and comftorbly win hardware sales.

Nintendo articles are at full force in trying to convince their games or future game releases are the best thing ever , I mean seriously ? Yoshi ? a Luigi game ?, exciting right ?, I will be playing Kingdom Hearts III and RE 2 Remake this month. :D

Completely depends on your perspective though. They’ve more first party titles but less third party titles. They’ll have greater hardware sold but less software sold (due to install base of competition). Review scores are hard to judge.

Oh dear lord, Nintendo has one solid month and you silly boys get so worked up. Playstation has had the upper hand nearly every single month since the switch released and it's been out 4 years longer. They would have to hold the momentum they had these last few weeks for an entire year, a consistency they haven't even been able to hold for a month yet until this past holiday season. Hold your horses you silly nintendards, Sony still has a half dozen huge games to release and haven't even done a significant price cut yet. You people crack me up.

Possibly since Sony is light on exclusive games this year. But at the same time, a lot of the big multiplat games coming up q1 and q2, are not going to be on Switch. Games such as RE2, kh3, Anthem, DMC5, Sekiro, and The Division 2 to name a few.

Nintendo and Sony will have very good years and it will be subjective if one dominates over the other most likely unless one of them totally under delivers which I doubt. It really depends on what games Sony are actually releasing in 2019. We know of Days Gone, Dreams, and MediEvil. TLOU 2, Ghost, and Death Stranding aren't confirmed and honestly don't seem likely.

Nintendo certainly has a ton of confirmed games for this year. Fire Emblem, mainline Pokemon, Town, Animal Crossing, Daemon x Machina, Luigi's Mansion 3, and Yoshi's Crafted World. Unconfirmed but possible for 2019, they have Bayonetta 3, Metroid Prime 4, Shin Megami Tensai V, and Pikmin 4.

If we're going solely by confirmed releases for 2019, then yes Nintendo has the edge. But new games could certainly be announced for 2019 by both Sony and Nintendo, so we'll see.

At the moment yes based on what Nintendo has announced and given release dates for, obviously things can change but for now the ball is in Nintendo's court.

If you're talking sales wise, then yes, they probably will, because Nintendo publishes more games per year than people realize. If we're talking review scores and popularity , there's no way to know that yet.

Meh, Nintendo has nothing at all this year that even remotely interests me. My girlfriend likes animal crossing though, so we might end up rebuying the damn thing anyway.

Switch still needs more 3rd party support to fill in the gaps. This is why Sony dominates at a steady pace. They have everything from indie to AAA exclusives on lock. Switch has spikes when exclusives drop.

I'm sure they will dominate for some. I'll stay in Camp PlayStation, however.

.Im positive Nintendo will have a packes year this year and as a switch owner im excited.

PS4 is came out in 2013. So the market is saturated. I would expect PS4 sales to decline in the next few years with ps5 looming in the horizon. Switch came out in 2017, so it’s not a surprised if it outsold PS4.
The more impressive stats is that the PS4 was able to outsell the switch both in 2017 and 2018. But with that said, it will be impressive if PS4 outsold switch in 2019.

Sony have a knack to surprise us. We know what heavy hitter games are coming out in 2019. The surprise will be the games that we haven’t heard about yet.

Meanwhile, my 14 year old who had saved up his money to get a Switch at launch asked me yesterday if he could sell it. He’d been holding out for Metroid, but he doesn’t care about it anymore.

We also own a PS4 and a XBOne. The PS4 gets played on daily. The XBOne hasn’t been turned on in months - same for the Switch.
