NARUTO: Ultimate Ninja STORM Hits Next Week, Only on PS3

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm hits the PS3 next week. The game features two main game modes for players to enjoy – "Free Battle Mode" and "Ultimate Mission Mode." In Free Battle Mode, you can play as one of 25 characters from the animated series. The battles aren't strictly one-on-one either - you can bring two support characters into every battle, who will help you out in short bursts. This is the same three person team structure as the TV series, but now you can create your own teams with all sorts of original combinations. A lot of effort has been put into the battles to make sure they match the look and feel of the animated series. You can perform all sorts of amazing moves with your favorite characters and even fight on walls and run over bodies of water.

I want to purchase this day 1 but I've been waiting for Valkyria Chronicles far too long.
Naruto definitely looks promising especially with free DLC.

ThanatosDMC6432d ago

But i like the older Naruto better... he's more mature and can ownt Akitsukis.

Sage Technique + Nine Tails + Own chakra + guts + whatever power Itachi gave him = still a dumbass, FTW!

The anime needs to be shown to us everyday! Not the english version either... native anime language FTW!

yep this is 1 of the games ive been very hyped up abut, cant wait, day 1 release for me, shane it wont have trophies thou :(

While many people will disagree with me, this game is a solid day 1 buy. I plan on buying LittleBIGPlanet, but this game is in front of it. I've been playing fighting games for 2 decades and as such I'm kind of bored with the formula. Naruto UNS, set for me a new standard. It's fun and original. That puts it ahead of LittleBIGPlanet on my list of games to get. I'm a huge fan of the anime and the effort put forward by CyberConnect2 is evident. I look forward to performing my "Tajuu Kage Bunshin no Jutsu."

Kain816432d ago

Nitrowolf26432d ago

agree or at least include part of the story of it and come out with a 3rd

xwabbit6432d ago

And they should make it online too :(

ultimolu6432d ago

Oh dear, I'm gonna be so broke.
Next week for me too.

ThanatosDMC6432d ago

Yeah, same here.

Fallout 3 (PC) = $54.11
LBP = $64.94
Resistance 2 = $64.94
Age of Empires 3 = $32.46
Naruto Storm = $64.94

I'm just not sure if AoE3 would be as good as Age of Mythology. Fallout 3 is worth it plus the mods. LBP is for co-op with my girl. R2 is with y'all. Naruto is for my sibs and myself.

So gonna mooch off people in the dorms for a while...

Blademask6432d ago (Edited 6432d ago )

It looks like a cartoon like uhm, Dragon Quest... not trolling.. but jesus christ how can it look just like an Anime?

The other ones you play are just like 3d games with kinda cell shading, but its still just a 3d game with brighter colors instead of this, whatever this is..

I don't trust it, and its evil.

Just play the demo.
They are not target render.

No One Makes Anime Games Quite As Well As CyberConnect2

There's nothing quite like flying in DBZ: Kakarot or Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm's battles.

That's also the problem. They are decent but never truly ambitious in challenging the powerhouses of any genre whether RPG or fighting.

Outlawzz1805d ago

Completely agree. Their games never quite reach that high point. They have potential but it's like they hold themselves back.

melons1805d ago

They do seem to have taken a safe route with the new Demon Slayer game though, which has no demons to slay (???) and is very similar to Ninja Storm.

spartan112g1805d ago

I mean, ArcSys makes better anime games in Guilty Gear and FighterZ, so this argument fell on its face quick.

Pepsi_Man30001805d ago

Those are both fighting games based off of an anime. Naruto storm, my hero one justice, that shitty one punch man game, etc are the games the writer is talking about Im sure

lucian2291805d ago

except naruto games are barely actual deep fighting games

BrainSyphoned1805d ago

Or 20 second fights fall on their face when portraying multi season anime.

Outlawzz1805d ago

I like the games they work on and how they recreate the feel of the anime. They are masters of that imo but the gameplay is usually basic and doesn't ever try anything new. It's mostly the same over and over.

So that basically only ever makes it a good game with lots of potential to be a great game.

Pepsi_Man30001805d ago

CC2 has a lot of potential. Theyre amazing when it comes to spectacle. Naruto storm looked great and asuras was amazing cinematic wise, but theyre gameplay needs so much improvement. Its so damn basic. Its like they hold themselves back. I remember the reveal trailer for asuras wrath having body slams, and suplexes, dragging enemies across the ground etc. And for some weird reason all of that was removed for gameplay that was hardly anything more than mashing the circle button.

And its even more frustrating cuz theyve done how many storm games now. Youd think they wouldve managed ti improve but tis like theyre not even trying. Idk man. I just feel like a dev like them shouldve been way bigger by now
