How Fallout Lost its Soul

The game series took an existential threat and made it meaningless.

This article should be called "How Bethesda lost its soul".

Fallout is just a game. Bethesda are the ones that make it.

They got finessed by the easier dollar. Lazy

Agreed. But then when you look at the PR nightmare since launch and how it seems like they can't get anything right and it just makes you wonder what the hell happened to Bethesda.

It was always accepted that Bethesda released buggy games. But it was generally okay because they were not game breaking bugs and the game itself was always still fun as hell. But then '76 came out and it's like Bethesda has been overrun by all new people. Did something happen? Are they under new management or something. This just doesn't seem like the same old Bethesda we all knew and loved.

Foxtrot has pretty much said it all. . They've rid their buggy luck for years. Instead of putting the effort in to fix things, they went after the quicker buck. I don't want or expect their demise, just hope this whole situation has a positive outcome.

We should not underestimate the influence of a publisher. You can say what you want about the gameplay, but releasing a game such an unfinished state? Thats all publisher right there. Bethesda Softworks and Bethesda Game Studios weres growing larger and with growth on such a large scale, corruption will seep in.
