"It's kind of ironic that my interview with Peter Molyneux a few weeks ago focused on the one part of "Fable 2" about which I ended up having significant complaints: the story.
In his typically charming but none-too-modest manner, here's what Molyneux (creative director of "Fable" developer Lionhead) said about his goals for upping the game's dramatic stakes: "I said we've got to try and make the greatest story ever told."
Now, obviously the chances of the folks at Lionhead surpassing Shakespeare and Dostoyevsky and Dickens and Marquez and a few thousand of our other greatest writers were pretty low. But in the end, the story in "Fable 2" wast just, well, standard videogame fluff..."

The Xbox 360 was a fantastic console in its day with some truly classic titles, but what are the seven best games for the console?
I'll go with,
Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Culdcept Saga, Shadow Complex, Ace Combat 6 with the flight stick,A Kingdom for Keflings, A World of Keflings.
Bonus Kinect Games: Happy Action Theater and Sesame Street.
*Skyrim was so bad on PS3 that it almost deserves to be #1*
Was this made by a.i.? No human being would put Shadowrun, Fable III, and Splinter Cell: Conviction into a list of the 7 best Xbox 360 games.
Would love to play Ace Combat6 on PlayStation, but Xbox decided to buy exclusivity and keep it off a competing platform.
The only mainline game I never played except for one level at a friends place. Game sold less than any other in the series if I remember correctly.
When the current gen XBOX offering is so lacking people need to refer to games released two generations back....
It has been a long time since I have left so strongly in a game, when you are on the rock near the final scene and a certain thing happens which i wont spoil, i actually realised how much i had gotten into this game. Admittedly the story is not complex, but it makes you care. Sometimes making people care about a simple story, is better than not caring about an overely complex story.
Fable 2's story isn't as epic as the previous one, but it's still a damn good story. The final scene was hilarious
the fable 2 story so far, i havn't been plowing through it though with sometimes taking full days between full quests.
Loving the whole game.
However, what I like about the story is it's not too complex to the point where you can't tie the story, or you fail to understand whats going on. From the first cut scene I was hooked into the game.I found the story to be a little more dramatic then the first one.
A game which is practically a beta with its glitches and bugs and a shallow weak story, ended up having high scores while PS3 games are bashed to oblivion.
Its pretty clear where the review market is heading.
