Forza Horizon 4 (AAA) and State of Decay 2 (AA) didn't have any microtransactions. So why is it impossible?

Tbh I think game pass is a genius way to sell dlc and content. It will be intresting to see how many people bought horizon 3 and bought horizon 4 compaired to horizon 3 and game pass. Then also compare how many got the dlc for each. For me it's a great way to sell add ons as you get the game for £10ish a month and then get the dlc for a price.

May not be pushed. I assume that means they may also be pushed? What if they're just maybe "politely requested", knowing that its just the respectful way to say to put MT in the game? Who knows?

I'm sure if MS is footing the bill, they're going to be producing the game, and that producer is going to tell them what they want from the game.

They also may be forced to add micro-transactions. Nothing in article but speculation.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing10d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9210d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit10d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing10d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9210d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse

To be fair, there are also human made games that release and lack any fun at all either.

jznrpg13d ago

But all of the great games have been made by humans

One is by choice, the other is a feature.

Guild Wars 2 been playing for 14yrs, 1st beta. This is just one company I support, Arenanet and NCSoft, even though I torrent, there are a few PC companies I will buy from. "PlayStation’s Horizon MMO spin-off, Horizon Steel Frontiers." I feel this will be good, NCSoft is a good developer/publisher.

It’s a tool. Use it elevate things and get it done faster. I’m sorry but not every game made by humans is good. If this can help things, then I fully embrace it.
