"Reviewing a game should be a simple process and usually, it is. But in the last few years, staggered releases and buggy, unifinished messes are complicating matters. The last few months have seen a few high-profile disasters culminating in Battlefield V and Fallout 76's notably poor launches."
GamesStepping into the wild radioactive yonder of Fallout 76’s Appalachia is about to come with some new surprises! Sudden encounters with deadly beasts, mysterious cryptids and even the legendary Bigfoot await in The Backwoods, a free update for Fallout 76 available NOW for all players!
The new trailer is here with Bigfoot hunting.

A new region of the map is opening for those with enough grit to cross Point Pleasant bridge. It’s time for you to travel westward towards Burning Springs. Taking place in rural Ohio, this is our largest map expansion to Fallout 76 yet!
Nice piece, it's about time AAA publishers get named and shamed for flogging half-baked goods. You would think Bethesda would have learnt from EA!
Amazing article buddy. I have declined to review Fallout 76 until it's fixed, it's just a negative process for everyone concerned when the consensus is already present. Given the mess ESO was in on release, I didn't think Bethesda would make the same mistake twice
"However, many reviewers had publicly stated they would do Bethesda or their own sanity a favour and wait for the nigh-on 50GB patch to emerge."
And thus not doing consumers any favors at all. Reviewers have a responsibility, imo, to tell the truth. So when should the review be done? The moment Bethesda or some other company tries to make consumers pay $60 for their game. Not at some point down the road under the assumption that it will hopefully get better.
A week before the game is released, and leave the review open for adjustments so the company can release future patches to fix whatever may have been wrong at launch
TBH, I think the game should be reviewed ASAP. These clowns keep pumping out inferior games and then get upset when the reviews reflect the shoddy workmanship?
Imo, if a game requires a 50GB patch within the first week of Launch, it shouldn't have been released, period.
