I'm sure they'll keep patching it

UltraNova2745d ago

I'm sure it will be too late for it to matter.

KukwesGaming2745d ago

It's already done extremely well for sales...UK market is has been trending downward across the board anyway and of course it didnt sell as well as Fallout 4 because this has been the busiest Fall we have had ever. It's really fun game being ragged on by people that never played it and reviewers just going with the hate trend for views because more people click on negative content than positive. Same reason they did it for Creed 2 which is also being received extremely well by the public that has seen it.

Thunder_G0d_Bane2745d ago

The problem is this game needs human NPC's to give the world some life. Imagine having human faction NPC's you can team with to help achieve things and conquer land. In its current state this game ain't worth a penny to me.

ameliabaz2744d ago

That's my problem with the game too (apart from the bugs). There need to be NPCs and sidequests that involve them. The world at the moment feels too empty and lifeless.

Strange_Evil2745d ago

I'd rather they take it behind the barn and shoot it. Take all the resources and pour it into creating a new engine for the upcoming ES6. Launch it like it actually belongs to run on this gen (or even the next gen consoles). Never have I hoped a game fails so it can be a wake up kick in the nuts apart from Bioware with ME:A.

KaiPow2745d ago

Gamebryo is surely showing its age and I am worried not even patches can fix some of the inherent flaws especially in a multiplayer server

extermin8or2744d ago

officially they claim to no longer be using that engine. They claimed to have made a new one for Skyrim but it's clear they didn't..... you can see they used the same base code as the gamebryo engine....

Jman22744d ago

I think they rebuilt the render module but left everything else as it was.

Cybermario2745d ago

when you have an empty world of course there is potential, shame was not there on launch.

TheSaint2744d ago

Exactly, potential is great but I want a fleshed out game on release day. Not paying full price to be, essentialy, a beta tester.

PhantomS422745d ago

And now we have a good idea as to why Obsidian games have a history of being buggy and broken messes much like Fallout 76

KillZallthebeast2745d ago

The majority of obsidian at least a bit back are the ones who made fallout in the first place. The bugs only happened once bethesdas dinosaur engine started being used. NV, the only modern fallout obsidian made is largley reguarded as the best fallout game to date. Drag 76 under the bus as much as you want but don't trash obsidian out of blind hate.

PhantomS422745d ago

Not trashing, it's the facts. NV wasn't perfect either. I was never able to play because of the game breaking bugs, could never get out of the cabin. Took over a year for them to make it playable. Obsidian is far from the great developer, average at best and just bought by a company notorious for closing studios who don't produce just after they had a game failed badly.

KillZallthebeast2745d ago

Well they sort of had to use the same engine since they were told to do a rush job on a fairly massive game

Armaggedon2745d ago

Hes trying to get people to think about the hypocrisy. People never mentioned the Bethesda surpassing jank that was in New Vegas.

ameliabaz2744d ago

New Vegas had the strongest story out of the newer Fallout games (in my opinion) but I don't blame Obsidian for the problems it had. They had to use the Fallout 3 engine and had to make the game in under a year (if I recall correctly) so I believe it could have been an amazing game if they had been given more time to develop it and bug-test.

of course it has potential. it's an interesting concept, no NPCs. Bethesda won't reach that potential though, but maybe they'll prove us all wrong? then again they should've proved us all wrong right from the get go, and instead they half-assed it

30fps sucks. Especially on an OLED.
