Fallout 76 Review - IGN

From IGN: The rich wasteland map of Fallout 76 is wasted on a mess of bugs, conflicting ideas, and monotony.

UltraNova2731d ago

Well there it is even IGN has spoken candidly.

kingtoby20812731d ago

They should have gave it a 1/10

PapaBop2731d ago

“No one on staff wants to play anymore of this videogame [Fallout 76]. I’m not going to subject myself to another 20-30 hours of this [expletive] mess to just put a number on it. My number is ‘Don’t play this game’.”

Giant Bomb's verdict far more damning.

UltraNova2731d ago

This is "I love my marketing deals, more than my integrity as a journalist outlet" IGN, what did you expect? This is more than damning as far as IGN is concerned.

frostypants2731d ago

@UltraNova, they gave it a 50. That's super low and they rarely go below that even for indie titles. What more do you want? It's their version of an F.

rainslacker2731d ago

Yet it still gets a five.

stupidusername2730d ago

Everyone knows that a 5/10 is horrible for a fallout game made by bethesda. If Ign were trying to save the supposed important marketing deals (that are far less prominent than people think) then they would give it a 7/10.

They had to. All of the major outlets waited for fan reviews on this one.

UltraNova2731d ago

Exactly...shielded by the Mob mentality...

slate912730d ago

There were no early review copies. Had to wait until the release date to start playing.

william_cade2730d ago

@slate91

They had reviews up on meta, but didn't give the score and finalize their reviews until way after the public on this one.

PhantomS422731d ago

With how long they were delaying the review and how much the guy in the review update videos said he was enjoying the game I was expecting it to get a 9/10 from them. Glad they were honest about it.

I'm so happy this game crashed and burned, hopefully they learn a lesson from this.

frostypants2731d ago

I'd have been happier if it surprised us and was good....

majedx92730d ago

yes they got away with there BS for a long time
be me playing fallout 4
get stuck thru a chair the game save
other save files got corrupted for some reason
everything is lost

TheColbertinator2731d ago

Bwahahaha Bethesda should leave online glitch fests to other publishers like EA or Activision

UltraNova2731d ago

Like any other easy money making pie, they want a piece as well.

PhantomS422731d ago

Not after this, they won't. They should stick to what they know. Now how fast do you think they will push up TES6 after saying it's years off.

UltraNova2731d ago (Edited 2731d ago )

Phantom,

Actually if they learned anything by this catastrophe they would push ES6 further down the line because they will be busy porting everything to a frickin new and up-to-standard engine, that's what I think!

rainslacker2731d ago

It helps to make a good game that can keep people engaged. Making it a mp game is only half the equation of making a cash cow game with minimal effort.

Then you have Sony making games like horizon for 40 million and taking in the cash. Hopefully the pendulum will swing back to all these publishers saying how great sp is next gen.

becouse they recieve free gifts like power armor edition, 100 copies of game and 1 week travel to havai all included for the staff and simmilar things. why? its marketing they are huge, the bigger you are the bigger the gifts. i seen even no name youtubers with little sub recieving power armor edition of game.

Ricegum2731d ago

T1125P

Oh you played it? Where did you get up to?

MasterCornholio2731d ago

Do you really need to play it to know that there’s serious issues with the game? I believe the really low review scores indicate something. Otherwise no game is bad until you played it. Which is silly in my opinion.

Hungryalpaca2730d ago

I played it. It was awful. Under 30 fps on a 1080? The fuck?

LiViNgLeGaCY2730d ago

Man, you are in FULL defense of this game, aren't you?

Stanjara2730d ago

You really have to think twice to give 60$ to a low reviews, and even more lower user reviews. They should include Tods picture on the other side of the map.

Surprised they didn't knock off a few decimal points for "too many bugs"
