Fallout 76 - A Shockingly Bad Attempt at Multiplayer Survival - Push Square

Fallout 76 will be remembered as a defining moment for Bethesda Game Studios, and not in a good way. This entirely multiplayer take on the Fallout franchise is a technical failure stuffed to bursting point with bugs and performance issues. The real kicker, though, is that even without all of its glitches and frame rate problems, Fallout 76 would still feel like a janky, hollow cash in that fails to justify its existence on almost every level.

Agreed. Here’s a 20 minute look at this dumpster fire if anyone’s interested. The game is full of bugs, glitches, and performance issues.

So standard Bethesda quality then. I was hoping they had improved, but it looks like Fallout 4 was just an anomaly.

I love it when he says "making the same game over and over again". Sums it up pretty well.

and there's GAAS for ya folks!

Never got into the Fallout games but it's going to be $40 on BF & I thought about getting it but now after seeing these horrible reviews I will continue to steer clear from it.

Play Fallout 2 or New Vegas. Stay far away from 4 and whatever the hell this mess is.

I tried Fallout 3 on the PS3 & I didn't enjoy it at all.

I dunno. From a programming standpoint it's new ground and pretty kick ass. Interesting that in order to get the things evolving, results in butt-hurtsies for comfotboxers. Even if you don't play these games if you are into game design/ development and programming as so many profess to be here, you'd have a lot to appreciate here.

They took fallout 4, removed anything that makes it fallout aside from looks, didn’t bother fixing ANY of the F4 bugs and added connecting to other players. That’s it. Small indie teams do a better job than Bethesda.

I'm pretty into game design and programming, and programming in general, and I'm more into elegant code that works well, and does what its supposed to do.

What they're trying to do doesn't make much difference if they don't actually achieve a working product. I can appreciate technical achievement. I often do and defend games which achieve it when they're being criticized unfairly. But I don't spend time appreciating games that don't work, no matter how inspired they may be, and based on what I've seen, this game isn't really doing anything special in terms of game design.
