I've played the demo a ton in the past few days...The only thing I changed around was I uncombined the sprint/crouch and assigned sprint to L3. That way, you don't have to hold down L2 to sprint, you just tap it, like in RFOM. SWEET!

I can't wait to see the final polish of the graphics in the full game.

I definitely will enjoy playing Gears of War 2 with awesome graphics that no game can come close too in 08.

resistance 2 is nothing more then a last gen shooter with no cover system. all it has going is a 300' sack boy.

the first time I played, I jumped into a random deathmatch for about twenty minutes, got my ass handed to me, and wasn't overly awe-struck by the gameplay and graphics (granted, it was a bit of a rushed effort, and getting pwned never helps.) It was good, but I wasn't blown away like I was hoping to be.

But on day two, I jumped into a four-player coop match and it felt like an eye-opener. First off, the game was the most fun I've ever had in online play...absolutely, totally, AWESOME!!! Not only were the gameplay and AI rock-solid, but with all the chaos ensuing, the game didn't hiccup or lag even once.

Also, upon first play, I didn't realize the amount of staggering detail that has actually gone into the models environments, and textures. The haters' tiring excuse that Resistance is "all gray" is put to rest. Matter of fact, one could argue that the colours are over-saturated. But take a step back from the frag-fest, and you'll realize how astounding the graphics actually are.

After a satisfying Objectives Complete, I jumped back into random deathmatch, and can happily say that I had just as much fun. I'm still coming to grips with the rest of the games aspects (Berserk, Player Roles, Weapons, etc.)

All I can recommend is that you carefully map out your controls to your liking so that they're more easily accessible than the defaults...especially the Walk/Crouch, Grenade, and Zoom functions - which should be accessible at the drop of a dime.

Either way, I'm more stoked than ever for November 4th to arrive.

One question regarding the eight-player coop in the full game:
Will it be a full-fledged story campaign a-la Nathan Hale, or more like the Beta, which consists of relatively short rounds of random mission objectives?

but as i started to play and get the hang of the controlls. it became instantly clear that this game was a power house in the graphics department.. i took out quit resistance 2 and put in COD 4 for multiplayer and my word the graphics are identical. with resistance 2 edging out as the better with a greater emphasis on textures. the maps are sooo huge and tehre wasn't a hitch anywhere in frame rate or Lag on servers. This is just amazing...

The game play for Co-op was just amazing too. and i can honestly say that the game will be awesome come november forth as the graphics for the single player campeign will be amazing. I'm gonna pop in resistance 1 and mapout my controls again that way i could get use to my controls again. and set up R2's controls that way.

but the graphics and hit detector are terrible not to mention the multiplayer fiasco of a mess.

I was so happy when I got in the beta!

Game look awesome, and I've been playing some 2 player coop with a friend (offline for now, so I can level up and not screw over the team).

It is insanely hard. We played for hours and never completed a level. For two players, we were a medic and a special ops.

The only complaint is that the game slows down and hiccups when you play the level with all the turrets. There are dozens are electrical pulses filling up the screen and the game does slow down.

I'm now a level 7 medic and I'm gonna be hitting up the online!

The movement of the players in Competitive Multiplayer is way too jittery/staggered. It makes sniping, on top of other things, pretty hard to pull off. Also, players aren't always highlighted with their Team indicators (Blue, Red) and when doing split screen this issue becomes even bigger since death can come instantaneously. And I don't know if this is a problem for you guys, but it takes me about 1.5 seconds holding down the Square button in order to pick up a weapon when it should be instantaneous. Tend to get killed a lot.

But the beta is Extremely fun, and pretty damn heart pounding. Even with 60 players, it never got too chaotic and the framerate was stable all throughout. Co-op is my favorite mode, though only having 2 players makes it pretty damn difficult. Better to just play online with your buddy splitscreen, and connect to those people as well.

first time i played the beta i thought hmm but yesterday i played Co-op and it's pure fun. can't wait to get my hands on R2 and Gears 2

when I was playing death match with the splicer and got the idea of just holding R2 and running at guys LOL. I love the splicer 3 different uses.

unfortunately too many.

These franchises offend people too much. Better to make another walking simulator where you deliver packages.

Bring back ape escape

Resistance 3 was such a FREAKING good game. It was a shame that the market was flooded with quality stuff at that time, because I'm pretty sure it was overlooked by MANY (plus, I was in gaming retail at the time, so I KNOW it was overlooked by many).

I only played 1 and 2. I preferred 2. I thought the campaign was great, although it did have too much influence from COD. The online was a lot of fun, especially the 8-player coop campaign.

That series deserves a remaster collection, as does Warhawk.

Tough choice here. I only played the 3 main titles but I loved them all very much and for different reason. I definitely played 1 more than the other ones, but that was because early PS3 life cycle there wasn't much else I was interested in besides MotorStorm.

2 had the really interesting, ahead of its time co-op (if it had been on 360 it would be constantly talked about still, but games journalists really didn't acknowledge multiplayer games on PS3 and really only acknowledged single player games from Naughty Dog). But the campaign in 2 was just bad. It clearly suffered from trying to be more like the games coming out around it (mostly COD) rather than embracing the spirit of more classic FPS games like 1 and 3 did so well.

All good games but Resistance 3 has the best weapons, the most polish, 3D TV support, and a great ending to the series.

Fall of Man still holds a special place in my heart, but 2 and 3 were still very good. I miss those games.

Great trilogy. Loved the second game the most with its colorful graphics and the setting. Wish Insomniac would either make a trilogy remaster for PS5 or a new game in the series.

for me is 3,2,1. I thought 1 was overrated.

For me, 3, 1, 2. Never played the portable one, but I always used to hear about how good it was.

R:Fom, R2, then the its not even a sequel so I don't know why its called R3...

Are people saying R3 CoD fans? Cuz mp completely abandoned its roots, it was a terrible CoD wannabe.. Story was an abomination as well, stupid ending too....

R2 story was great, loved the live action stuff pre release. gameplay for it was a complete step back, the first one I felt like I was a part of the war, R2 you may as well have not had allies cuz every enemy was only focused on you. AMAZING ahead of its time Coop saved this game. MP was kinda meh, also a step backwards, gameplay changes for it were handled poorly.

R:FOM had some unpolished unfinished rough edges. You could definitely tell it was rushed. But story premise was freaking amazing, and playing with a buddy and stuff going on all over the place, I really felt a part of a war. Best MP in the series hands down, really inventive and different from everything else out there at that time and really to this day honestly.

I would love to have a new entry in this series!

I loved this game.

Resistance 2 was the best complete package for a shooter, along with Modern Warfare 2. Even though some people disliked the single player, as an action game I'd say it was better than any of the Call of Duty campaigns, which used to be pretty great.

Resistance: Fall of Man was one of my first online gaming experiences and one of my favourites, 40 players on the Manchester Cathedral map was so much fun. I would love this series to come back, even if it was a collection it deserves more than being stranded on PS3.

I loved the resistance games and it would probably be a factor in getting me to go search for a ps5 if they ever made a sequel

Resistance was the reason i bought a PS3. I wish they didn't end it early in 3. From what i understand they were supposed to keep it going and we would have gotten to see the chimera planet and the pure chimera but Insomniac said they got bored of making the same type of game so they gave it the ending in 3 so they could move on.

Remakes, Remasters, Reboot, sequels.....I’ll take anything, just anything they wanna throw at us fans of the series. Too good a franchise to lie dormant while the technical enhancements of the PS5 are ripe and ready to make our eyes bleed, with an in-house Insomniac pushing the boundaries.
