Playground Creative Director Ralph Fulton said it will be a long time before the second studio talks about the secret in-development RPG game, rumored to be a Fable reboot.

That would be great. I think Playground should take there time with this game, it does not need to be a launch title if it is not ready.

Maybe the “mysterious”, “unknown” project will be revealed in 2020 and released in 2021.

More like year 2 or 3 titles ( 2022-2023), the studio is under construction and they probably just started preproduction and to hire.
Don't get me wrong, sure one small game can be made in 2 years, but tha's probably not the case here. Playground got the talent to build something big! But it will take time, just look at games like Anthen, Destiny, God of war and Horizon, all of than 4 yeras or more! Than yes, it will take long time for PG 2° studio to deliver this Secret project, specialy considering that they are still under construction, and the same goes for other MS studios like the initiative and NT ( this one is in process of expansion).

For lauch on Xbox next, it's all about Halo infinity, Forza 8 and perhaps 2 other smaller games.

Yeah mobile game takes years and years to develop. Plus, a second studio had be opened just to develop it.

I do hope with the extra studios Microsoft has some good exclusives next gen. Competition is always good in the industry and I'd like to have a reason to buy the next Xbox as well as PS5.

I have both but I’m kind of regretting getting an Xbox One X. There’s only one exclusive worth playing and that’s Forza Horizon 4. Everything else is meh.

I don’t regret my PS4 Pro at all. I’m currently playing God of War and started a new play through of Horizon: Zero Dawn. Thinking about getting Tetris Effect after playing the trial. Such a good game.

Hopefully I’ll be playing Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us: Part 2 next year. Then the wait for PS5 and Horizon: Zero Dawn 2 begins!

It took Playground Games 8 years and 4 games of the same type to get to the level they're at, with help from an existing developer working on the same genre, they don't have that working on a new genre.
Forza Horizon also isn't classed as the same level of development quality as something like Red Dead or a Rockstar game.

BTW while Red Dead Revolver wasn't all that from a ratings perspective, Redemption 1 and now it's prequal put Rockstar on a way higher level of prestige, Playground Games are just starting to branch out into a different genres and they don't have the level of resources or talent that Rockstar does.

Lionhead are the ones that made the first Fable, arguably the franchise hasn't really been a huge success, hopefully if Fable is being worked on by PG then it can be a good game, but I wouldn't build your hopes or hype up to expect Red Dead Redemption 1 or 2 levels of quality.

It's very unlikely your assumptions will be right.

Wow That's a huge statement to make. Especially considering that playground games have never made a game other than Forza (racing games only) and that RDR 2 is the highest rated game of this generation.

It will be intresting to see what they can do with an rpg as Horizon has become the open world racing game to beat and by far the best looking one on any console and pc.

Ide love a new fable but if I'm honest ide love to see a new from pg2 and fable from rare as I think SoT has some elliments of fable humor in it and think they would do a good job with it.
