Nintendo is better than Xbox even if I don’t like Smash and Pokémon . Forza is out every year and the only game worth mentioning on Xbox this ENTIRE YEAR . Nintendo had Octopath and Xenoblade Prelude at least plus Smash and Poke. The bar has to be set to one game for Xbox which is really sad

Dude, what? You say that Sony and Microsoft both have 1 big exclusive this holiday season, and then insinuate that Nintendo doesn't have enough. They have 2 of their biggest franchises launching during the holiday season. What the hell are you talking about?

Then you insinuate that Nintendo is in trouble because the other systems have COD and Destiny. The Destiny franchise is 2 games in, with multiple expansions. COD is 6 games in on this generation. If people are interested in those franchises, you can bet they already have PS4s or XBOs. Those games aren't selling many systems at this point.

What's selling systems now are the exclusives that you can't get anywhere else, not the yearly AAA shooters. And as far as exclusives go, Nintendo is doing just fine this holiday season.

This will sell Switches as its the ideal parents vs kids game, so +1 for each household. Also its got more mass appeal than RDR or Spiderman.I can imagine commuting Dads playing Smash to get better to beat their kids, while commuting kids do the same to beat their friends. Could become huge.

When has Xbox had any momentum this entire generation don’t see these articles about their poor sales and continued lack of exclusives and the fact they’ve stalled console sales wise at about 35 million switch been out barely year and a half and it’s done 22 million another year and Xbox be in 3rd smash Bros Pokemon’s Mario in January bayo3 Metroid prime4 Luigis mansion 3 Pokemon Gen 8 for sometime next year no doubt many other games besides
Xbox have got crackdown 3 that’ll save everything 🤔

Oh well ,there is going to be a Switch 2 by next year holiday season. So who cares?

Nobody buys a Switch for the third party games. 20 million was probably too high of an estimate for Nintendo to make, but given that we saw a Zelda and a Mario so soon in this console’s lifespan we very well might see another of each, which could really boost sales towards the end of the Switch’s life. Smash is huge, though and even if Let’s Go! Isn’t as big, there’s still a mainline Pokémon releasing soon. The Switch isn’t in any danger.

I game on PC PS4 and PC. I buy a lot of switch games. I couldn't imagine gaming ONLY on switch because all my favorite franchises are generally on PC and PS4, but I have a lot to look forward to on switch and consistently do. Every month, there's something to look forward to, even if it's a port of an old game (diablo and civilization on the go? good shit).

If it weren't for the WiiU the Switch would be in an even worse position from a software standpoint. Most of the releases are WiiU ports (including their biggest holiday release this year). Yes I know Smash is smash and it includes new fighters and new stages....but it is still a port. Just like Mariokart, Zelda, Toad...and the vast array of other titles. Mario Odyssey, Tennis, and Mario Party (as well as Xenoblade) being the stand outs. Honestly the Switch release schedule (without ports) is even WORSE than the WiiU.

I still don’t get this mentality. The average age of gamers is 35. I doubt a large group of 35 year olds is waiting on mommy and daddy to buy them a game for Christmas. This line of thinking is why October to December is packed with too many games and absolutely barren from April to August (with the occasional surprise snuck in that time frame).

Predicted this a year ago. Nintendo's appeal is extremely limited, and they simply have no 3rd party support. Alot of their consoles end up being little more than a temporary fad.

This has been true for 3 generations now.
