If there’s one franchise that’s defined Ubisoft over the past decade, it’s Assassin’s Creed. But it's time to let the franchise go - and here's why.

Steam page update reveals new technical features for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, hinting at a possible remake.
Fingers crossed, does seem like it's almost guaranteed, just wish they'd announce it already, seems like we've been hearing about it forever, I just want be some black flag! 😂
I'll only pick it up if Ubisoft gets rid of the internet requirement to install a physical disc. Release the game complete
This seems to be referring to updates to the current steam version. If a remake does get announced it will absolutely be sold separately

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag voice actor Matt Ryan has hinted at the possibility of the game receiving a remake.
Love that we just keep replaying games. Next-gen comes along we’ll get Assassin’s Creed Remake REMAKE…
People say they like the old style AC games yet when they made one nobody bought it. I prefer the RPG style AC games better personally so I’ll Skip Black Flag. Never understood why it’s so highly regarded in the first place.
Love(d) AC 4. Been replaying it recently, actually. Idk what their price will be for this release, but I can't see spending anything close to full price for it. Maybe years from now when I feel like another playthrough.

It took going back to a much older game to realise just how empty Assassin's Creed Shadows feels.
"I've never thought feudal Japan would be a good Assassin's Creed setting. Give me 1960s southern England with mods and rockers."
Aaaaaaand that's where I stopped reading.
And shadows reminds me of something origins is lacking. Virtually every game is lacking something. It is because it is lacking, that it has what it isnt. Funny dichotomy that…
Origins is a beautiful game made by talented people that got turned into a brutal level-gate fest by the CEOs.
There are only a few Assassin's Creed games I played. Original, The Ezio Collection, and what I think is probably the best in the series Assassin's Creed Odyssey with the DLC. I'm done with the series, it's the same shit.
They have so many franchises they could easily have one big game a year
Prince of Persia
Splinter Cell
Rayman 4 - 3D Platformer
Beyond Good and Evil
Driver
Reboot Assassins Creed
That's not counting the multiplayer focused games like the Division, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, The Crew etc. They could easilly have one multiplayer game and one single player game a year. If they followed a pattern you'd not see Assassins Creed for 5-6 years if they wanted.
the only thing this series needs is a longer release schedule.
and less designing the game around MTs.
You really think Ubisoft is going to move on from their most profitable series?
You’d have a better time at trying to convince Nintendo to move on from Mario, Sega to move on from Sonic, Square Enix to move on from Final Fantasy, Sony to move on from Gran Turismo, Activision to move on from Call of Duty, Capcom to move on from Resident Evil, EA to move on from FIFA, Rockstar to move on from Grand Theft Auto, Microsoft to move on from Halo, Bethesda to move on from Elder Scrolls, & Blizzard to move on from World of Warcraft.
Yeah obviously many of those games don’t release mainline titles as frequently as Assassin’s Creed, but realistically Ubisoft has no reason to abandon the franchise.
i love my assassins creed every year
Why? Between Origins and Odyssey, the series finally got its footing back. What they need to do is go a bit easier on the MTs, scale back the world size a bit, and focus on more densely populating their worlds with fun stuff to do.
