I mean for Xbox even if my hardrive dies I can steal download the games again from my profile. Games I buy now I’ll be able to buy on the next Xbox or ps.

anonymousfan2770d ago

No need to "steal" anything :P

jukins2770d ago

Only reason I wont go digital is resale value. If I could trade back digital or trade with a friend I'd be all over it

mandingo2769d ago

yea but how much to you really get back for selling your games. Not really worth the hassle imo.

DerekTweed2769d ago

I agree, you get pittance for trading in games.

The only reason I would buy a physical game is if I don't buy it at launch, and it is considerably cheaper than the digital version. At least £10 cheaper. Otherwise over 90% of my games are digital, not including PC.

Usually get a decent amount. Example just sold monster hunter for $27. Had my fill of it and was able to turn it into money for something else rather than being a space waster

Hate is a very strong word, I dislike buying physical copies since it's hard for me to store them anymore now that I've got my own place but I could never say I hate physical copies.

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

Scissorman43d ago

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
