SnagWire: I usually don't do opinion pieces as it can lead a writer down a dark road, but something has to be said about this noise surrounding Fable 2 and the backlash it's bared for containing post-launch glitches.
To have your game effected or ruined is frustrating and more often than not, may feel inexcusable; but it's better than not having video games at all–-that would be the case if developers were simply told to "create a glitch free game."
So let's do the math for a typical testing process in terms of hours...

The Xbox 360 was a fantastic console in its day with some truly classic titles, but what are the seven best games for the console?
I'll go with,
Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Culdcept Saga, Shadow Complex, Ace Combat 6 with the flight stick,A Kingdom for Keflings, A World of Keflings.
Bonus Kinect Games: Happy Action Theater and Sesame Street.
*Skyrim was so bad on PS3 that it almost deserves to be #1*
Was this made by a.i.? No human being would put Shadowrun, Fable III, and Splinter Cell: Conviction into a list of the 7 best Xbox 360 games.
Would love to play Ace Combat6 on PlayStation, but Xbox decided to buy exclusivity and keep it off a competing platform.
The only mainline game I never played except for one level at a friends place. Game sold less than any other in the series if I remember correctly.
When the current gen XBOX offering is so lacking people need to refer to games released two generations back....
Indeed its not tight to get Glitches in a game when you spent about 60bucks to buy it.
Im of to another thread with my MAX SPEED!!!
glitches before the ps3 and 360 weren't so common, but now that we can download patches, every dam game almost has to be patched. Same with GTA4, unexcusable.
The problem with gaming today is that we have more complex hardware and HD visuals, which take longer/more work to create HD assets for. Larger poly models, better textures, etc. And dev cycles have not increased. They are the same length as always more often than not. That's bad.
No game is bug free, thats a fact. EVERY game has and will have bugs. However, it is inexcusable to release a title with an obvious, game breaking, show stopping bug. I'm sorry, it's just bad.
And the problem is not the dev teams. QA works 90 - 100 hours per week in most studios. What the problem is, is publishers setting a holiday date for these titles, and pushing them out the door with the mentality of "patch it later." That's just poor practice, for ANY title. Fable 2 did it. Socom did it. Gears and Resistance will do it.
Lionhead is a quality team, that has made a great product. But the amount of bugs they have waived/allowed for such a high profile release is frankly a bit upsetting. They can and will be fixed, but consumers should not have to deal with unfinished product on ANY console of this calibur.
When developing games exclusively for Xbox 360, glitches surely are inevitable. Mass Effect is a direct example of this. Thanks to PLAYSTATION®3, even Xbox 360 games are now able to be ran at a consistent frame rate due to games being developed exclusively for PS3 and not Xbox 360. Which makes it much easier to port the title to Xbox 360.
When it comes to hardware, Xbox 360 is on it's last leg. Dark Sniper couldnt be no more pleased to send this green console to garbage bin where it deserves.
