Why would you bother? It’s common knowledge at this point that entire games are installed to the HDD regardless of media type this gen.

I'll more than likely be getting this digitally because my oldest has said that he wanted to play it too. We're not about to be fighting over the game disk :)

lol. You have to bookmark it because you know its not true for all games, which is why when you tell that to a person who buys physical media to save space, they will doubt you play a lot of games.

I don’t blame you. With the Xbox One install being larger than PS4 it would lend credence to the idea that Xbox One will have something PS4 does not. The Xbox One X product in particular will likely be the superior version.

That’s the requirement Sony has set for installs. PS3 games require roughly twice the space of the install in the same manor.

So if you have a 50GB install on PS3 it requires you to have roughly 100GB free.

So the actual download is 99 GB, not 150 GB right?

You’ll likely have a faster install time going physical however with the game being 99GB expect a portion of the game to require a download. If you go digital you will need 149GB free. On PS4 at least.

If you’re on Xbox the first part will likely apply however 107GB will be what’s needed for digital as it doesn’t have the same 50GB requirement for install.

Likely the threat of PS5 details incoming and purchase justification. Likely also hoping to persuade individuals to buy on PS4 and the threat of another third party title being superior elsewhere, even with the half assed marketing deal.

I’d be rather amused if they consider cross platform play.

From what I have been reading, the PS4 usually requires that you have double the space available when downloading and installing a game. For instance, if a game is 25GB, you'll need 50GB of free space on the HDD available.

This seems to be a common problem with the PS4.

I think what is going on is that the PS4 downloads the entire game, then installs, then deletes the download. Whereas the XBOX most likely installs and deletes the download as it is installing.

Black Ops 3 is sitting on 107gb in mine, and that's just the vanilla version from PS+. Infinite Warfare is also over 100gb with the Season Pass.
I might actually use my internal hdd for RDR2.

Yeah me too and its not 107 GB on xbox one x probably be that amount with a day1 patch

It is noticeable to the naked eye. Games tend to look cleaner and a bit more polished on the x. It's not SOOO significant (a high end PC isnt SOOO significant graphically to the x either, where PC shines most is in its CPU). But you've got to imagine all the pixels it is cleaning up and how much the hardware is being taxed to do so. The image as a whole just looks more pleasing to the eye. Not a generational leap, of course, but definitely an improvement. I wish they both would've paid more attention to the CPUs. Like, xbox should've used ps4 pros GPU and used the extra headway to put better CPU hardware in the machine instead. I, for one, would be appreciated that approach much more...
