anyhoo i know you can list about 80 review sites but really i only use 3 or 4 if im not sure i want to buy or rent

and i know im buying R2 day one! So i dont need a review to help my feet move out to the store to buy it! The last game i used reviews to make up my mind was Dead Space and i can say i am VERY happy i bought this game! It is a stunner and it really does spook u out

amusing how it's always fanboys themselves that scream the loudest about sites being bias

they are just terrible reviewers period, not so much biased. Unless you think biased reviewers give MGS4 10/10.

Even though he has no evidence, and just seems like a poor pathetic fanboy who feels cheated that games on the PS3 aren't what Sony promised when the console was released. Lair or Killzone 2 anyone!!! Mix in the fact of the poor PS3 sales, and this is what we will expect form loyal Playstation authors.

Of course the media is biased, but making claims that the media is unified on some global conspiracy against Sony is just ridiculous. It is actually, very laughable!!!

Who cares what gaming sites say? Do you listen for them to tell you when to piss and crap?

Most reviews sites never get the full scoop on the game anyways and I seriously doubt most even play through the whole game.

Brother in Arms for example: Most reviewed this game 8 and up, but the online was complete garbage <assessed by most purchasers of the game>

Fable 2 another example: game should have gotten 8s and lower. the game is riddled with bugs and co-op is garbage <assessed by most purchasers of the game>

Dead Space another example: this game should not have received anything lower than a 9 this game is great although it has little to no replay value.

BOTTOM LINE: Play the games for yourself, don't take the word of some other idiot sitting behind a keyboard getting paid to do just what I did. After all I did give examples <pretty much fact>, but it still is an opinion.

Gamefly is the way to go if you want an alternative to buying and renting IMO.

Media bias is a difficult thing to prove, but everyone seems to notice it. The problem isn't that R2 will review out in the 8's, the problem is games like LBP and GeoW2 will receive multiple 10's due to hype and marketing support.

I am having a blast in the R2 beta, and that's the only review I give a crap about.

wipeout is terrific.
psn has converted many former xboxlive players

I don't think after this year is over that xbox360 will be as

supporters of the xbox360 really want a ps3 but unfortunatly

Actually, I am the co-publisher and founder of another gaming site (Gamer 2.0: www.gamer20.com). I've written what some people would call anti-Sony articles, but it isn't because I dislike the PS3.

In fact, I will admit that in my pre-press years I was a Sony fanboy and Xbox hater. I thought the Xbox was big and clunky (much like Microsoft's still terrible OS and productivity programs), focused too much on graphics, and thought they had no real business being in the videogame industry.

Over time, I matured and grew much more objective. I finally bought an Xbox when I fell in love with a friend's copy of Max Payne, and gave the console an honest opportunity at impressing me. In all, I certainly had more PlayStation 2 games and memories, but I actually grew to like the Xbox quite a bit.

This generation, I think Microsoft has done a phenomenal job. They're biggest hiccup has obviously been the RROD issue, which actually choked out my launch unit after it had been going strong for about 2 years. Otherwise, they've put out some great software while the PS3 is still trying to find its place.

I think the PS3 will get there though. While the 360 can still do some impressive things, it's starting to become obvious that the PS3 does indeed have more muscle and in the final years of this generation we will definitely see a gap in the visual output of both. I could be wrong, and it may just be because the 360 is loud as hell, but it does seem like it struggles harder than the PS3 does.

Actually, it's totally plausible that the PS3's best years will be the last ones before the PS4. It'll probably be pushing better visuals at a more reasonable price. The problem will be with their exclusives. They dominated the last gen because they had so many games that just wouldn't appear on the Xbox. Now we're seeing WAY too many simultaneous release. The PS3 no longer dominates the global games market, and - while still down big time - the 360 has been making strides in Japan with sales up 157% so far this year. Though being up 157% from practically nothing isn't all that much.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

So now there's certifiable proof that Ryan was in fact "fired", as opposed to when it was first announced that he "retired", in order to save face.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
