Good bunch of tips; worth the read.
Yup, I agree with these. I'd even add if you join a squad. DOn't sit and do nothing and let one person do all the work. I had a couple jerkoffs do that to me.
I will add that before you jump into public spy missions it is a great idea to solo quite a few of them (as the vaults and layouts are random per mission) and take your time to learn the vaults and hacking consoles. For Grineer and Corpus spy missions there are a bunch of different vaults, with each mission getting 3 random ones and as the level of the mission increases so does the difficulty and complexity of the hacking terminals. The alarms in and out of the vaults are separate so once in the vault, if you are seen, the alarm goes off, the timer starts counting down, and if you do successfully hack the vault your experience gained is greatly reduced. This will happen as it is just part of learning them. If you can farm Loki early on he will seriously help with all of this with a long duration build for invisibility. And given enough spy missions you will eventually farm Ivara (try not to rush this as RNG is what it is and running spy after spy to not get her blueprints is infuriating... you will get her eventually)
What this does do is familiarize you with all the variations so when you do jump into public missions you aren't accidentally tripping traps or getting stuck with no idea how to even get to the terminal.
Final tip, really try not to use ciphers. First they are rather expensive to craft, so always have a few on hand in case of emergency, but don't make it your go to method as they are not allowed in sorties. The last thing you want is to jump into a level 100 sortie spy mission, get to the vault and not be able to hack it when you are screaming "Why can't I use a cipher?!?!" Fail.
I use Spy missions primarily for leveling weapons as for some weird reason, hacking computers makes you much better at using weapons. Don't ask. Either way, they have good reward tables and XP so learning them inside and out is never a bad thing.
Good luck.
I can tell you what not to doing Warframe, LOSE!!!
