Best not give any release windows until the game is closer to release

b163o12811d ago (Edited 2811d ago )

PS5 launch title?

I mean, we know Kojima takes his time with his games, and if any developer outside of Sony's umbrella gets a PS5 dev kit early it'll be Kojima... ijs...

Eonjay2811d ago

I think it is silly to think that when most likely all PS4 games will look and run better on PS5. This is a PS4 game period. The article suggests 2019. The last of us 2 has been in development longer, has no release date but no one doubts it's a PS4 game.

xX-oldboy-Xx2811d ago

Why would you launch on a system without an install base? Will they release and enhanced/remastered version on PS5 in its 1st/2nd year of release - probably.

Just like TLOU and (probably) TLOU2.

jukins2811d ago

Ps5 launch titles may be late ps4 launches tied in with a bunch of 3rd party games nothing wrong with that at all imo.

Small risk bug reward.

To push sales for new console? That's a common thing to do for first party titles. Not that I think they are going to do that here.

Well we know it's a 2019 window. So that's a start.

xX-oldboy-Xx2811d ago

sprinterboy - I'd say September, Oct/Nov/Dec are 3rd Party release windows. Sony doesn't need to release their games close to Christmas to help sales.

nucky642811d ago

what release date - there is no release date.

bluefox7552811d ago

Just because it hasn't been announced doesn't mean they don't have one.

b163o12811d ago

@Bluefox755

Swing and a miss s/ XD

nucky642811d ago

well, if it hasn't been announced, his saying the release date hasn't been changed means nothing - since nobody else knows the date, there's nothing to give credence to his statement.

WANNAGETHIGH2811d ago

What release date? Lol 😂... still looking forward to the game tho.

MrSugarholic2811d ago

I think it's an internally planned release date they are targeting rn.

Atticus_finch2811d ago

Simple, a release exist weather you know it or not.

akaFullMetal2811d ago

Would be amazing to see this release in 2019.

ILive2811d ago

It's 2019 release window. Read an article on it a while back.

Hideo Kojima put Low Roar in Death Stranding because gamers need more culture in their lives

It's important in life to maintain a broad palette when it comes to culture and the arts. Hideo Kojima agrees, as he continues to use video games like Death Stranding to introduce people to music and other elements they might not otherwise discover.

Cool, as long as no one is losing their job while already rich people make more money.

Notellin230d ago

Exactly this right here. Tools should never replace creators.

DarXyde229d ago

I feel that this is the position of every sensible person. However, we face two prominent issues:

1. There are nefarious actors (like Microsoft) who want to prohibit AI regulation. Some US states have some regulations in place, but it's very patchwork at best.

2. Without strict quality control and human review, AI is very likely to hallucinate in embarrassing ways.

TheEroica229d ago

Lol.... People are gonna be losing their jobs...

Travesty230d ago

I’m all in favor for faster developed games.. that’s been the Achilles heel this gen.. taking 5+ years for development. If it can help with building vast landscapes then let it be. A win win if it doesn’t endanger the jobs of current team. They can help in other areas.

Gamersunite880230d ago

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

H9230d ago

I don't doubt kojima that he has good intentions and would use AI without compromising the creative process, but you know for sure other development will say the same and have AI make the whole game for them.

Notellin230d ago (Edited 230d ago )

Yeah and whoever he works for or whatever AI models he chooses to use will train on his data and work to replace Kojima themselves.

I can't imagine any other creator in gaming that demands the salary size of Kojima.

rlow1230d ago

What I wonder about, let’s say five years from now. Will an individual be able to make a triple A title using A.I…If so what would be the need for others? I hate to say it but eventually people will loose their jobs. Because I hear no talk about the ethics of using A.I. among the big companies.
