It's a very good Mc like game I'd say slightly better and cross platform with pc players too

Knew it was gamingbolt when I saw that an indie dev said some words

I don’t need generations of hardware, I much prefer consoles but I like the PC model of constantly evolving hardware you can choose to upgrade or not. I’d like the option in the console space to have a super powerful system that can run games great and have world class graphics, and I’m willing to pay for it. I don’t think my console experience needs to be limited because they want to hit a $4-500 price point. I think the Xbox One X was a great idea, but I also would have payed $1200 for one when the generation kicked off in 2013, so I wasn’t running some games in 720p.

jukins2769d ago

Wouldn't you just get a PC at this point? But you act like current consoles dont jave world class graphics on display already inside 300-500 dollar boxes. You're spending twice that in most cases just to barely surpass an,at most, $500 box.

doggo842769d ago

That's not what console gaming is about.

abstractel2768d ago

There's no game that fully takes advantage of a powerful PC rig. Today's PCs run laps around the PS4 but you have to cater to the lowest common denominator (which is usually the console generation you're in). Sure you can have higher framerates, better resolution and a couple of different graphic options but it's not the same thing. You'd be amazed at what a developer could do with even a modern CPU and a 980, let alone with a 2080 and a powerful Ryzen which is what I expect the next-gen consoles will have the equivalent power of.

Also, there's zero chance boundless developers have a developers kit or even a spec sheet of the PS5/Next Xbox.

Love that they post a comment from an indie dev on the subject, when both the console makers themselves pretty much said this would be the case going forward, and a major reason they choose the x86 architecture.

This is pretty much old news at this point.

Marcello2769d ago

Normally next gen consoles were roughly (give or take) 10x more powerful than previous ones but that certainly wont happen this time round. I wouldnt expect more that 2-3x this time.

joab7772769d ago

Never will be again. We will continue to see minor upgrades and more recent iterations such as the Pro etc. Only way to keep up with exponentially moviving tech.

Eldyraen2769d ago

Probably more like 2-3x the Pro/X anyways. From the base model consoles the differences will probably be relatively closer to a normal jump (6-8x anyways). So if you stuck with launch/Slim then the jump will seem higher than if you went mid gen upgrades.

We can still see gains elsewhere but if you already play 4K on say an X then that’s like 3-4x base model right there which is effectively subtracted by “potential gains” for next. If they did 4k/60 then gains would be even smaller next gen for sake of performance gains. So gains will be seen lower than they really were (given traditional consoles without the mid gen like I said).

conanlifts2769d ago

CPU wise it will possibly be 6-8x more powerful. But from a GPU perspective probably more like 2-3x the power of the pro.

UltraNova2769d ago

Correct on both accounts and I would add that the overall outcome will be around the same visual quality as we have today (late current gen) but in native 4K(all the time hopefully) and more stable frame rate.

I hope those new Ryzen CPUs help on the lighting/physics/AI department at least.

jukins2769d ago

Never know if the 7nm chips amd has coming are anywhere near as good as rumors suggest could see a pretty decent jump. Bit yea probably right think the jumps will get smaller between generations especially with mid gen refreshes

Typical gamingbolt article

Makes sense to say anything to make your game that literally just released to look good.
If the Next gen consoles come equipped with a 6 core 7nm ryzen then cpu wise yes the new consoles will easily have 10x more power there. GPU wise is also going to be on 7nm and a brand new never before seen architecture. This guy wouldn't know considering I doubt they have the true next gen hardware on hand. I think the earliest revisions and yields are at Sony hq but for sure not in these guys hands yet. He wouldn't know and neither would any of you until either AMD or more likely Sony start dropping the real numbers. The real question becomes what Next gen memory format will it come with and will it also be an apu? Mark Cerny knows..not a boundless dev.

about those pictures... whatever crazy and cool looking console concepts fans are making, MS and Sony will always produce a simple tasteless rectangular box

Appearantly it isn't, according to Gamepitt lol

I still can't get over the fact that he gave Gene Rain 6.8 and The Walker a 7.8.
