Anthem Has 4-6 Teams Working on Content

If there’s one thing live services games like Destiny, The Division has going for it, it’s that they have an ever-changing and steady flow of content that’s aimed to keep players constantly engaged. If BioWare’s latest statements regarding Anthem is to be believed, content won’t be an issue with it at all.

That could lead to some serious inconsistencies down the line.

UltraNova2844d ago (Edited 2844d ago )

Thats an issue for later though, post launch. What I want to know is that out of those 4-5 teams working on content how many of them are actually working on day 1 stuff and not dlc...

What I really want to know is if the game, being a full price one, will be complete upon release or not...and we know what a complete Bioware game looks like.

Bioware already has a yellow card(Andromeda), a second one and the're out.

I used to be kinda sad for devs when they failed to deliver, but those were the good, honest times, were everyone was selling us full fat, complete games (even if those game were good or not) and post-launch milking wasnt a thing yet. Now I've grown indifferent and cold. We've seen so much and they know what we like, respect and hate. There's no excuses anymore either deliver a complete, quality game or face the consequences.

Its really weird how I have zero interest in this game.... maybe a public beta will change that.

I'm more excited about a coffee mug I ordered on Amazon.

Games like destiny, division and anthem are trying to change this industry but not to make it better but instead to release a game in unfinished state and with community feedback make it better over 1-2 years

Original destiny did that until it got to taken king than it showed some real potential but than came destiny 2

It took division almost 2 years for us to say now it's a good game but developers had enough and want to start that process over with division 2

Ea makes so much money amid all the hate that they really don't give a crap about us the core gamers knowing very well casuals will spend money

TheColbertinator2844d ago

Unless Anthem delivers an awesome story I am more likely to jump on The Division 2.

Ricegum2844d ago (Edited 2844d ago )

Division 2 will be just as lackluster, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Could Anthem live on? Tech allowing local server hosting existed, former executive producer says

BioWare's multiplayer shooter Anthem was terminated this week because EA no longer wanted to maintain servers for people to play the game on, and without them, no one can play the game. But the former executive producer of Anthem has revealed that BioWare had technology working, close to the game's release, that would enable us to host our own servers to play the game on.

EA/Bioware should allow us to host our own servers to let this game live on.

I'd be fine just playing it as a localhost and dumb as rocks AI bots. Just give me the choice.

Anthem Players Report Download Errors A Week Before Shutdown

BioWare and EA had previously said the game would be accessible to those who owned it until it shuts down on January 12.

Never buy online games unless there is some kind of refund policy.

Only days remain before EA will switch off the servers to BioWare's ill-fated multiplayer game

Time flies (like a Javelin suit): there are only 10 days left to play BioWare's ill-fated multiplayer game Anthem before the servers are switched off, presumably forever.

In my opinion, Anthem was a good IP that was worthy of a no man's sky or cyberpunk 2077 treatment.

To this day, their sub reddit is active and I was able to get into a game quickly a few weeks ago when I booted it up.

It is a shame EA and Bioware didn't want to give the game the overhaul it needed to turn it into a competent looter shooter.

GamerRN174d ago

They were close to releasing the overhauled version and then EA cancelled it

TheGamersDojo172d ago

I wholeheartedly agree. If ANY game deserved to get the rework/relaunch it deserved it was this one. More than literally any other. Even over FFXIV, No Mans Sky etc.

SlothLordPootus174d ago

I just finished this up a couple days ago. Although it's a bit repetitive and the story is meh, the game feels great to play. Even if you can only hop on the game for a couple hours before it shuts down, I think it's worth it.

chicken_in_the_corn174d ago

Really enjoyed this. Shame to see it go.

Software_Lover174d ago

I didnt know servers were still up. I could have been playing!!!

2nd comment attempt (1st doesn’t appear & this may register as duplicate):

They can spend billions to buy or get bought but they can’t spend a fraction of that to fix or overhaul a game that could have been truly special, smh.
