GTABOOM writes "Grand Theft Auto 5 is slowly taking on the characteristics of a billboard. Right now, it is a very exclusive billboard that is hard to get onto, but it is steadily traveling down a path towards becoming an advertising platform."

GTA Online player base & revenue on PlayStation platforms are almost twice of that of PC/Xbox combined, according to a recent Rockstar leak.
PlayStation is GTA and GTA is PlayStation, they're going to kill it when GTA 6 is finally released 😏.
I know of people that own a PS4 exclusively to play gta5, and that’s all they play. I’m sure some of you here know of someone too. I’m surprised at how low the revenue for PC is.
That’s because most PlayStation fans are ghetto. Source…Every ghetto person I know, plays on PlayStation.
Actually really surprised with the PC revenue which is an abysmal 3% overall vs Console (PS and Xbox combined) at a whopping 97%. It now makes sense why Take Two/Rockstar prioritizes Consoles. Heck, they could even delay the PC port release 2 to 3 years and it wouldn't make any impact at all.

Take-Two Interactive revealed it is pausing development on its Nintendo Switch 2 edition of "Borderlands 4" in its latest quarterly earnings.

O'Dell Harmon Jr. writes: "Before we say goodbye to 2025, let’s take a look back and see what were the most downloaded games of the year. It was a great time for sports, shooters, and some new PlayStation VR2 games. Sports favorites topped the charts in US/Canada and EU, with NBA 2K26 and EA Sports FC26, respectively.
Juggernaut GTA V found a home in the top three for both regions, with new 2025 release Battlefield 6 claiming second place in the US. Fortnite took top place for free-to-play games, and Beat Saber continues its PS VR2 success."
It’s funny to watch the only games EU and USA agree on was Minecraft and back ops 7 both regions on 6 and 7 spot respectively other than that FIFA rules EU
I would like to see a list that has both free to play and paid games together, but at least we have this.
To this day GTA5 is a top downloaded game and it makes me wonder if the industry is really ready for GTA6. I imagine almost nothing else will sell during that game's release window.
GTA V online is what it is. I only really played the single player part (enjoyed it) and never tried online because how bad I heard the community is. Its kinda old at this point and RDR2 will probably be Rockstar's main focus going forward. GTA V will slowly die out.
I think you mean, "GTA 5 Evolved Into An Advertising Platform A Long Time Ago, and I'm Just Noticing This Now"
good thing i stopped playing gta5 a few hours into the main campaign a few years back. it is completely beyond me why this one was so embraced by people. recycled city, unlikable main characters and all in all just more of the freaking same. yikes.
Well all the DLC has been free, plus I'm sure the player base has dwindled.... maybe this is just par for the course.
GTA Online is just watching new content get added that most will never attain. I just think expensive when I think GTA Online. I stopped caring a long time ago.
