
id Software studio director Tim Willits said that the game is a strictly single player experience, but that it will have post launch content and updates, paid DLC, and community events and the like to keep players engaged over the long term.
“It’s a single-player game,” Willitis said. “We feel that we are offering many hours of game for the money, but we also want to have a longer tail on the game. We’ll have some free updates. And we’ll have paid updates. We have some community things too, so you can kind of feel that you’re part of a community. And we’ll talk about those later. But our focus is single player.”
