While some might argue the pool-puzzle-adventure genre is somewhat over populated, it is always nice to see a new contender in this crowded arena to see if there can be some new innovations. Removing tongue from cheek, Pool Panic does a lot of new things that help it to really stand out from the other options for this kind of game. The game is set in a world populated by living and often incredibly emotional pool balls that all have personalities and different traits. Some of them are even based on different animals, so if you’ve been waiting to see what a pool ball/fish looks like, TSA has some good news for you.

June 2019 Humble Monthly games are here and they include, among others, Black Ops 4, Pool Panic and Red Faction Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered

Surprisingly, Pool Panic does have a substantial single-player campaign, despite being a party game. Just like the actual game, one controls the cue stick, with which they hit a ball of the same name. This is the closest thing to a protagonist, as you physically control the cue ball between levels and explore the world with it. While there isn't much of a narrative, there is certainly a lot of content to be found. There are over 100 levels, and amazingly, they all felt unique in some way. It's interesting to see how the passion the developers had allows them to manipulate pool in such a way that prevents it from growing stale.

Pool Panic is an absurd puzzle game that breathes new life into the game of pool despite some control issues.
Gotta get this one!
