Nathan Fillion Made An Uncharted Fan-Film, And It's Excellent

The official Uncharted movie may be stuck in development hell forever, but actor Nathan Fillion and his crew have made their own 15-minute tribute to the iconic action-adventure franchise. It is wonderful.

That's a class act..

Nathan.. Meet Nathan...

You can never go wrong with either of those Nathans

Am I the only one that thinks he runs like a 60-year-old?

Otherwise this wasn't bad if it didn't shine a light on the cheesy way scenarios can seem when transferred from gaming to Cinema. I do appreciate the fan service in it, though (Kitty got wet, for example).

Years ago fans of Firefly/Serenity and Uncharted were absolutely wanting this.

thorstein2740d ago

We are still wanting this.

And now we have the greatest video game to movie adaptation so far.

CloudStrife9002741d ago (Edited 2741d ago )

Honestly, this is fantastic! Why is it that fan-made projects ( games > movie/trailers/shorts ) are always 1000000% better than the offerings we get from giant corporates? O_o

Fans put passion and respect before dollars. Corporations on the other hand....

dumahim2741d ago

Even if we can only get 1 movie out of him as Drake, I'm all for it.

-Foxtrot2741d ago (Edited 2741d ago )

The Uncharted film with Tom Holland hasn't even began shooting and this shits all over it, it's Uncharted and well done for a fan film.

Why don't they put a fan film together using Nolan, Emily and Richard though, I'd love to see them in live action.

firelogic2741d ago (Edited 2741d ago )

It boggles my mind why they're starting off the film (series?) with young Drake. That isn't Uncharted. In the games young Drake works because we know adult Drake, those kid sequences don't last very long, and it's fun to see where he came from. An entire movie revolving around young Drake is asinine. If it bombs (and it will) the people outside of gaming will never see the true appeal of Uncharted because they'll never make another one.

Tankbusta402741d ago

Because they envision 40 sequels(you know typical Hollywood greed) so they cast the Spiderman dork so he can grow with the role. Won't work if the first movie sucks but hey Hollywood doesn't think that way.

-Foxtrot2741d ago

I know...young Drake were the worst sections in the games, they were so slow and you just wanted to get back into the action

I'm more annoyed they chose someone who looks and acts nothing like him but it wouldn't have mattered who they chose, no one likes young actors in these types of films they always come more cheesy then they are.

Lord_Sloth2741d ago (Edited 2741d ago )

Drake was born in 76 and Fortune came out in 07. Assuming that the year matches up that makes him 31 which puts Holland (22) closer to his age than Fillion (47). Not saying that Fillion isn't a great fit for Drake but they can potentially get more movies out of Holland as a bumbling action hero given his youth.

Let's not assume the movie will be crap until we see something from it.

-Foxtrot2741d ago

Let’s not assume? Despite every video game film being between awful to below average

Sure man...

I don’t care how old Holland is he looks and has never acted nothing like Drake in any of his roles. Nothing that screams “Oh wow he could play Nathan Drake”

MWH2740d ago (Edited 2740d ago )

Part of why the Marvel movies are so successful is because the character casting in general was well received by most fans of the comics of all ages.

Holland bears no resemblance to Drake in looks, charisma or character.

UNCHARTED2FANATIC2741d ago

You're telling me they are casting tom holland instead of this guy?? Wat a joke

UNCHARTED2FANATIC2741d ago

I don't know why you always get so many dislikes you are always spot on especially when it comes to uncharted

-Foxtrot2740d ago (Edited 2740d ago )

Because if you say something which can be looked like as an attack against the franchise as a whole people don’t like it

Fans are fickle

syphon322740d ago

I like nolan ... but lets be honest Nathan Fillion is Nathan Drake... before i knew the truth i thought they modeled drake after fillion... for starters the appearance is uncanny between the two even down to mannerism and facial quirks.... I like North and he does a great job voice acting drake.... But Fillion is Drake..

-Foxtrot2740d ago

So the guy who actually plays Drake in the games is not Drake to you?

Right.
