“This is the first game in the series since Mega Man 10, eight years ago.”

This is also the first game in the classic series since Mega Man 8 to push the franchise forward in 21 years instead of retreading old ground.

On a side note Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 & 2 will be the first solely internally developed Mega Man project since Mega Man Star Force 3, 9 years ago.

Mega Man 9 & 10 are fantastic tho

Mega Man 9 and 10 are NES-style retro throwbacks whereas Mega Man 11 has has a modern graphical style, a higher budget, and creative new gameplay features thus finally moving the franchise forward.

Mega Man's English voice in this game has received quite a bit of flack, with many fans commenting how oddly and inappropriately deep it sounds, especially since he's generally had a much younger and boyish-sounding voice in games like Mega Man 8, Marvel Vs Capcom, and Mega Man Powered Up (which wasn't as deep by comparison).

I don’t get how they can get the range of the voice so right with his Japanese voice, which sounds younger and closer to that of the three aforementioned games, yet go in the polar opposite direction with his western voice.

Chances are quite high it was a conscious decision. It's possible Capcom USA felt Western audiences would think the character a child with a younger voice--which would lead to possible backlash. Another possibility is most "young boys" voices in games in the west are not done by youths but by women--and Capcom may not have had access to an appropriate voice in their contracted stable of voice actors.

Yet the character visually resembles a boy regardless so he should still have a voice that matches his appearance. His current voice is more suited to more mature X from the MMX series.

Deep voiced classic Mega Man brings PTSD flashbacks to that incarnation from Captain N.

Mega Man Deserves the Super Mario Bros. Wonder & Sonic Superstars Treatment

This would hardly be the first time either of these franchises attempted to reinvent themselves, but the execution and timing of these releases makes them especially compelling. In the case of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, it's set to be the first new entry in the series in over ten years, introducing a bold new art direction in the process. For Sonic Superstars, it's coming at a time when Sonic Team is on a bit of a hot streak, riding the success of Sonic Frontiers. It's enough to make some gamers consider what other 2D platforming icons deserve a bold new entry, and there's one robot-busting character who is long overdue: Mega Man.

Not under this Capcom. Maybe they will put a Mega-man skin in Exoprimal if fans beg.
