Nope. Especially if it's primarily streaming based. For it to be a game changer, they'd need to outright buyout EA, Activision, and Ubisoft or at the very least, make exclusivity deals with them for a period of 5+ years (all games exclusive to Google). If all they do is join the party, they're going to be DOA.

Plus, Google has a habit of starting things and not following through.

If they stick to streaming, then not a chance.

Is it's just a dedicated platform for Android games no, but if they make an actual game console and they buy AAA studios, then all of a sudden that's something to pay attention to, but not something I want to see happen.

Streaming with games can get stupid in price the cost of the console, the cost of being able to play online, the cost of the of the good internet you need for the streaming of games which can get very expensive depending on the area you live in, plus the cost of the monthly and if you choose yearly fee for the streaming service for those games, plus the monthly fee those games charge to play online like say FF14. And who's to say that day one launches are guaranteed to even appear on those streaming services on launch. I am not shelling out that kind of cash for my hobby to keep me entertained I'll hang up my controllers if this ever happens or I'll just go back to the good old generations like Sega Saturn.

M$ is already doing what Google will try to do and it's not gonna work, given M$ has more money than Google atm and it's somewhat struggling with the Xbox and considering how the steam machine pretty much failed, I don't see them making any kind of progress since people gonna stick to what they like, xbox, ps4 and switch.

If it's a real gaming console and has good looking exclusives and more powerful than current consoles, it could be.

Ya, because Google has such vision in the gaming market, to just bust out with something so revolutionary. Anything involving cloud or streaming, can burn in a fire.

So I doubt Google has anything truly remarkable to give the big 3 any worry.

They really need to make a big first impression like a console exclusive or a big third party game and bring the fight to sony/ms. If they rely on third party alone like steam machines did then this is just another flop in the making.

Not without talented devs! You can have all the money and a powerful console but without creative devs you got nothing!

Who knows really, it all depends on how they go about it really.

Google don't really have gaming in their DNA, so this will more than likely be a corporate execution with no soul, don't need another 'me too' bit of kit. Between PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, mobile and VR/AR, I think all the bases are covered.

Wuchang is great. Nine Sols didn’t have a physical copy so I never played it but I’ve heard good things so I will check it out. I stopped playing sports games many years ago when before the card dlc’s or whatever they’re called.
