After JC3s framerate became a joke half way through the game making it frustrating more than fun, (and they never bothered to do anything about it and just pressed ahead with DLC packs instead) this is not gonna be a day one purchase for me. Will wait and see how the performance holds up first.

optimus2873d ago

well i bought the definitive edition almost a year later and experienced no framerate problems whatsoever.

starsi3602873d ago

On console or PC? The console versions are reall bad for performance unless you have the Xbox One X (and maybe PS4 pro but not sure about that one) and never got a patch to fix it

I'm on the 500gb xb-1. I don't have a PC so I can't compare but it looks and plays really smooth to me as it is. The only slowdown I see happens Intentionally for a few seconds for dramatic effect only when you liberate an outpost or town. Maybe they patched after you gave up on it.

Just booted it up again to have a look. I’m at a bit where you are being battered by multiple helicopters and the frame rate slows down to what I’d guess is around 15-20fps. It’s a few hours in to be honest.

Anyway, a quick search on Reddit and confirmed that they never patched the frame rate issues on xbox one and lots of people are still upset by it....

The comments in that link are from about 5 months ago. I have yet to experience any slowdown to make the game "unplayable" like they claim. I'll play it later today i'll go to the sky fortress as it's full of attacking drones or get a 5 star level so they can throw everything at me and see what happens. Maybe I never noticed it.

I played JC3 with a newborn that would only sleep in my arms: midnight to 7 am so her mum couldd get some sleep. It was the only game that was manic and exciting enough to keep me awake.
That was the mst worthwhile I felt playing a video game. I'm in.

Newmanator2873d ago

Going through that now, I feel you!

optimus2873d ago

you're not kidding; it's one of the few games that has kept me playing until 4&5am on a regular basis...i always bought into this series after about a year of initial release waiting for the inevitable Game of The Year, Definitive Edition...in doing so, my experience was slightly different cause i constantly used the jet pack and had no need to use other vehicles. it does get repetitive with liberating towns and outposts but it was a lot of fun regardless. the story could have been fleshed out a little more though. Now, this latest just cause looks like a day 1 buy for me. looking forward to this than most of the other triple A games on the horizon.

Just Cause 5 would be a 'no go' according to the series' creator

Christofer Sundberg: "Me and my team pitched Contraband back in 2017 to MSFT (and signed it). It's changed quite a lot since then obviously, but it would have been fantastic to see it being released one day somehow. Just Cause 5 would be a no-go since extremely few from the original team are there still."

OR ...
maybe remake the first one and also expand it abit ?

Try fixing 4 on PC before you even think about making 5.

Perfect for the person like me who wanted to play Back 4 Blood but didn’t want to pay Back 4 Blood

frostypants1216d ago (Edited 1216d ago )

B4B is the definition of mediocrity. It feels like it should be good, but it's just...off somehow. Then you remember L4D/L4D2 and how much a remaster of that would be more fun. One day, please, Valve?

Dirty_Lemons1215d ago

Sad though isn't it, it had all the genetic makeup needed to be L4D3 - but, as you said, something felt off. Plus I hated that card system. It overcomplicated a great formula.

gold_drake1216d ago

yesss DMC 5 and DBZ fighterz, life is strange

its a very good line up not gonna lie

Exvalos1215d ago

Those 3 games alone justify the price

gold_drake1215d ago

they're pretty solid gaming experience imo xD

monkey6021216d ago

I've never played before the storm so I'll give that a go now

gold_drake1215d ago

its good, but the OG is still the best

Aloymetal1216d ago

DMC 5 time to give it a try.

crazyCoconuts1216d ago

I had this on my Steam wishlist... Guess I don't have to buy after all!

Aloymetal1216d ago

Yeah, you got lucky. Enjoy it;)

boing11216d ago

Woah, that is pretty solid. Lots of games I'm interested in.
