I don’t think I’ve ever been so conflicted with a game. There have many been times while playing where I just want to put my controller through the TV, due the game’s extremely unforgiving nature, and yet I’m so addicted to it I can play it for several hours in a single go. There’s a real sense of progression, across the many upgrades, research, contracts, and dinosaurs to unlock, that once you get an island going, you just can’t stop. The progression is over-arching too, which is a huge plus and definitely adds a lot of replay value. Even though I’ll mutter how much the game can piss me off and make me hate it, I have to give it an 8/10 just because it hits every right note for Jurassic Park builder sim.
I have a feeling this person hit a wall like I’ve done on several occassions, but they didn’t want to push through. Not saying their score isn’t justified, but this game is clearly not for them.
i enjoyed the hell out of this game, played it for hours and hours, got platinum trophy,no problems no glitches, nothing just good time.
I have put almost 50 hours on it so far and the score I give it keeps going up. Why? Because the more you play it, the more you understand it and the more it shows that there is actually a lot of depth to it. It is not an easy game and yes it can be unforgiving and infuriating, but I think running such a park would be even more so.
The truth is that, like any city/park building game is a tough one and definitely not for everyone. If you play the game and read the reviews you would argue that every negative review comes from someone that shouldn't be playing this type of game.
So, what score would I give it? I think a very solid 8.5 is accurate. This is one of those game that would seriously benefit from a demo.
