because it's a game made to be a game. It was fortunate to have a fun single player mode which was a perfect twist to it's multiplayer

I don't see the appeal.

I played a few matches and was tired of it already.

I think it's mainly because it's an easy game to learn and play and it allows the player to somewhat control the pacing. Most of all, the game tends to play with your emotions as you can go from calm to intense fighting in an instance, accompanied by feelings of anger, relief, etc.

From a scientific perspective, the dopamine your brain is producing while playing is a helluva drug.

Free, optimized, online battle royale, competitive, has building to set it apart from the other battle royales which also brings APM into the picture. etc etc etc

I mean, I have a friend that ONLY plays this game so I guess its addictive but I didn't find it all that amazing...but hey I am probably just dull and stupid!

It isn't. I played it twice, then summarily deleted it. It is garbage warmed over. The tweeny bopper casual crowd loves it, so go for it. The shooting is AWFUL. The building is downright dumb. Enjoy it, so so not for me.
