Well they’ve already been the best racing developers this gen, shown with the highest rated exclusive racer in FH3 (Over 9 million players on that game as well) and with what FH4 looked like during the E3 announcement i could see it doing even better. Next up is hopefully Fable by these awesome Devs

They certainly seem to understand what makes gaming fun. And are technical masters. Can't wait to see what they do in a different genre.

Well I guess that's a good mindset to have but you'll never get there if all you make is Forza games.

Some of the best developers we have are all about variety.

Everything about this acquisition makes sense except for this reasoning. If you want to be the best developer in the world, giving up creative freedom doesn't really seem like the best path. I get that you have access to more money and resources, but that seems more like a short cut.
not to say it can't be done, the two devs I view as the best in the world are CDPR and naughty dog, one's first party and one's independent, so playground may very well shut me up on this.

Snapping up their other Forza guys made sense.

They are clearly very talented, but if we look at MS's handling of their first party studios, they will be stuck iterating on the same franchise for the foreseeable future until the franchise is driven into the ground at which point they will be shuttered. If you have true aspirations of greatness, surrendering creative control to an organisation who take absolutely no creative risks is a bad move.

Good luck to the studio. Microsoft history with their studios has not been good (not my opinion, facts are public) but I hope they can surpass themselves and one day be in the legendary studio hall of fame with Naugh Dog, Santa Monica, Guerilla, Sucker Punch, Hideo Kojima and others.

I think it was a smart deal for both companies, playground gets funded and micro now has a very talented first party team who they know can produce quality software, win win for xbox gamers if ya ask me.

guys.. come on, this ISN'T something anybody should be trolling them for saying. EVERY developer should be saying this and bringing this level of energy to their studio. IT'll only bode well for the industry as a whole so honestly good luck to Playground Games, they already have an incredible franchise under their belt! so why not! The skies the limit as they say!

Forza Horizon does look the bollocks now doesn't it. I'm also grinning ear to ear that it's set in Great Britain, that shot of the Hewendon or Thornton viaduct (no 100% sure) was stunning.

MMO with dynamic shared seasons set against a British backdrop is awesome.

If they can do that with 200 staff, I can only imaging what the RPG they are working on with the other 200 members of staff.

Good things can only come out of this!

Valve (Portal 2, Half-Life 2)

They certainly have the talent to do so, it's just a question of the projects they choose to tackle. The Forza Horizon series has gone from thought of as Motorsport's younger brother to now the best racer in all of gaming in a very short amount of time. If they approach future projects with the same high bar, the sky is the limit.

Naughty Dog, Santa Monica studios, Insomniac, these are the best development teams in the world. Oh and possibly Sucker punch from what they just shown at E3.

Nail fable 4 or whatever open world you working on and you just may be in the convo.

They should not chain themselves to one genre, but Id say they are pretty good already

Playground is already on the short list of the best devs. A certain group might not like it but every game just keeps getting better. Forza horizon 3 is easily as good as any game released this generation. With the full backing of ms, they are really gonna thrive

Great devs one of my faves amazing what they do with the masters at Turn 10 tools and engine, playground do not really have any competition .
