
After a frankly appalling start where it had no decent games and was basically getting it's arse handed to it by the Dreamcast (in gaming rather than sales terms) the PS2 finally hit its stride with the release of Grand Theft Auto 3 and went on to dominate that generation.
A superb catalogue of games followed with everything from huge AAA blockbusters to quirky cult hits available and the PS2 still sells relatively well. Especially compared to its successor.

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.
