The idea that "MS won E3 because they are finally trying, and have done a few things instead of just promising to do them.", frankly, doesn't change anything. They made a positive first step, but the path is a lot longer than one step.

Lol this debate is so silly. Sony could have just re-listed the upcoming games on a projector screen in complete silence and they would have won E3. This conference was about games, not some retarded showy display with bells and whistles to cover up a lack of substance, of course sony crushed it.

Question--I didn't watch the conference, but could Sony have had such a long intermission because they decided to hold some things back for other shows this year? Maybe after watching MS's show, Sony didn't feel the need to show everything at E3. Just a thought, I'm probably totally wrong.

It's the format that was atrocious. The games weren't. After MS E3, my coworkers and I talked about how great the presentation was. Where as for Sony, we were excited and spoke a lot about the games.

Microsoft had a fantastic conference for both themselves and Sony, revealed so many PS4 games also, Sony's conference made me more than want the four main exclusives, they literally look like PS5 games.. absolutley blown away by what these machines can do!! E3 was glorious for everyone, I love this, personally cared more for Sony's, their exclusives are stellar, I am most definitely getting every single one, oh.. and DMCV & RE2!!

Exactly. Sony’s E3 was mostly about games we can only play on PlayStation. Xbox was 90% games we can play on PlayStation, and 100% about games we can play on either PlayStation or PC.

E3 was great. Sony set expectation that they were diving deeper into the already existing titles this year and I think they did a great job of giving me a good preview of what I was getting myself into this upcoming year. The only thing I "missed" was Red Dead Redemption (in which R* NEVER goes to E3). I'm buying Spiderman, TLOU2, Ghost of Tsushima AND Death Stranding so it was really good to see what they were about. I thought that the E3 presentation (minus the Ron Burgundy flute number) was pretty good. For me it's all about the games whether they are new or already announced. That RE2 remake was quite the surprise too. Overall, not the best E3, but a needed one as I wanted to see that lineup a bit closer.

So I looked beyond Sony's conference and really looked at the Philosophy of what Sony's doing. Last E3 was the first E3 Sony started to downsized and subdue their stage floor. This year we didn't have a single developer on stage doing game walk though's explaining what's going on in the games lack of solid release dates (seems to be the problem for most publishers). What kind of hurt it is when it cut back to I guess Journalists doing an in the moment interview with Shawn Layden instead of keeping the player immersed in their show, no more intermission.

I made a comment last night about Sony's arrogance maybe coming to play. I still stand by my comment when I said Sony can take it easy because they don't have much to prove with tons of consoles sold and their games instant classics that fly off shelves, they're the kings and queen of this gen. I just hope we don't get the same kind of presentation come the next E3 especially with new consoles looming. Nobody wins with Arrogant Sony. But if you cut all that back they did get to what matters, the games Sony's world renowned studios and they didn't disappoint on any of their games.

I agree. I think most of us can admit the pacing was off at least for us streamers. But they kept their promise of the deep dive into The Last of Us 2, Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding and Spider-Man. They did not promise us anything else and we also got a look at Control, Kingdom Hearts 3, Resident Evil 2 Remake and Ni-Oh 2. But it's clear they left out things they're saving for other conferences this year.

Im happy. The only reason there was no new announcements is because this is the last push with big AAA PS4 titles. PS5 is cooking and will have amazing sequels/new games. They just cant show it yet. I have to agree PS4 is the most appealing platform. Im buying 80%+ of what they showed. Followed by nintendo at around 50-60%. Great multiplats coming too

Awesome digital services like EA Access and Game Pass which is getting Fast Start in June so we can start playing almost instantly, Best visual / performance for multi plats like Anthem, The Division 2 and Cyberpunk, Backwards Compatible enhanced titles and great exclusives like Forza Horizon 4, PUBG, State Of Decay 2, Killer Instinct, Ori And The Will Of Wisp and Gears 5. Xbox just offers so much more than PlayStation.

As I said before even if I owned a PS it would be only for a couple exclusives. The X would still be my main console.

I lol'd at the articles saying Sony had a mediocre conference. At this point its not Sony who need to prove anything and what they did show looks awesome tbh, if anything it was a bit predictable which doesn't detract from the games they showed. Tbh it was ms who needed to blow us away but their conference was underwhelming considering their position.

The games were incredible to see, but the format of the conference... please someone tell Sony never to present an E3 like that again, we need the 2016 way back

I just want to thanks square and Microsoft for showing us all the Sony titles that Sony couldn't fit into their own show. More 3rd party and exclusive games on ps4 !

No question. If you want well crafted, narrative driven experiences then PS4 is what you need! With all the great 3 party titles along with what Worldwide Studios are bringing there is no competition for me.

If you watched both Xbox and Playstation conference it is very clear that Playstation exclusive games are on a higher league of their own.

MS can't match that quality and quantity. Don't take my word. Make a fact check and see who is winning this generation like there is no Competition AT ALL!

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
