Microsoft was pretty damn good. Session was the best exclusive announcement from Microsoft imo. Sony was alright. Ghost of Tsushima looks awesome, but anyone else feels like it's too early for Nioh 2?

RE2 Remake and Devil May Cry 5 were my favorite announcements so far.

I would say both. I love this e3 compared last year. Too much hype last year then it totally disappoint me.

Surely its the gamers who win?

Between the two there wasn't a real winner or loser. But if you want to look at the reality of it. Between Sony's strong 1st party. And MS stance on games and diverse showing and future new AAA's. Obviously its the consumer that's winning at the end, if you really look at it.

Sony won easily. A more laid-back show yes, but they deliever as usual - the top-notch games just keep on coming. And my wallet keeps on crying hehe :)

Sony won with best games and attitude, but Microsoft was a close second with new, but too small, game studios. I suspect Nintendo will win the whole conference, or perhaps be a good second.

It's a tie if you ask me.

When it comes to the content shown, Sony was better, but when it comes to the presentation, Microsoft was better.

Ultimately there was no good conference this year. Sony lacked the wow factor of unannounced titles and had needles intermissions. And don't get me started on the psvr lack there of.
Meanwhile Ms trotted out the same old exclusive titles with a new number on the end.
Square, ubi and ea failed to impress and bethesda somehow had the most to say but is suffering major blowback by turning their most popular ip into a rust clone.

Overall this year is a d average from everyone.

I guess we still have Nintendo and that rumoured fallout 3 title remake might happen but the odds are low that Nintendo will buck the trend as they just released a mario and most titles would be to early in dev to talk about outside of smash bros

Tbh, i think Ms actually had a better conference. They showed games after games (ofcourse mostly third party) None of the intermission, rock band, dance nonsense.

Sony for me though, the format of the conference wasn't that spectacular. But boy did they show off their games and how. Ghost of Tsushima was gorgeous. Looks like i got my Tenchu fix. TLOU 2 was amazing. Spiderman was awesome. Can't wait for it. Death Stranding? Whooaaa...what the hell was that...i want to know more..im hyped for this really.

Xbox show was better paced and varied.
Sony had a better focus on their 1st party.

Enjoyed both but Xbox had me more engaged throughout.

Microsoft. Far better than Sony. But Sony gave Call of Duty Black Ops 3 for free to all PS Plus members. So...bad show, good promo!

sony showed some real exclusive, golden ones i should say, so... that's an easy win for sony honestly.
btw sony, even with that strange start and not so much time put in it, was better than ea, ubisoft, bethesda, square enix, pc gaming and devolver digital COMBINED!
microsoft did a good job, showing some new awesome ps4 game like DMC 5 and jump force :P
jokes aside, battletoads/ori 2/cupehad dlc were good to see, so it wasn't a complete waste of time.
now, let's wait the nintendo direct (spoilers: it will be fine at it's best, but AWESOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME for nintenfanatics)

Two solid conference! But both lacked that suprise at the end!

Came across as Sony gearing down, no new IP's and showing off 3 very big games at length says to me they're looking to reveal PS5 next year. Potentially even early 2020 if not Christmas 2019.

Still waiting on release dates on Dreams, TLOU2, Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima. I can't see them stretching them out to late 2020. Had they teased a few more big games then I think you'd have enough now to last the next 29 months (till November 2020) however its more than enough to cover the next 17 months (November 2019)

Microsoft definitely had a better E3 than Sony. However, you have to take into consideration that Sony has presence over 3 conferences a year: E3, Paris games show and PS experience, Whereas Microsoft generally only has a presence at one event a year namely E3. In addition, it was a crucial E3 for Microsoft to come out firing. Naturally, Microsoft had more incentive to come out swinging. but anyway, this E3 proved Microsoft are making some serious strides to improve their first party output. That's a good thing for all gamers. These past 2 E3's for Sony have been rather disappointing to be honest. That doesn't matter though, they have exclusives other publishers would kill for and delivered their promise to gamers for new AAA ip exclusives throughout this gen which is the reason why they have dominated.

Microsoft actually was good, but lots of multiplats(world premiere) , that is also good, they are building up against all damage done. Sony was ok, the remedy game was a nice suprise, overal was sort of follow up to their exclusives. Good for everyone!

I really hope that MS will catch up and make the competition got nuts again in terms of games development.

As a look at my comment history will demonstrate, I am a Sony fan first and foremost; I would like to think I am a fan rather than a fanboy.

In my opinion, I think MS had the better conference this year, I think the production values were better and the pacing of the show was superb. I do however, feel that they missed the opportunity to deal a knockout blow because they still seem to be relying on the same franchises that they have relied on for the last 10 years and their new studios simply cannot compete with Sony's stable of devs.

I think Sony fumbled a little this year, not so much in respect of the games shown, because literally everything shown looked incredible, but they fumbled in respect of the spectacle. It was cool that the conference started in the same setting as the Last of Us 2 demo but for anyone not at the show, the impact of that was minimal and the resulting intermission was painful to watch.

I do feel like just 1 more big announcement might have elevated the perception of the Playstation show a little and I really wanted to see a release window for Last of Us 2.

I think my take away is that as a Sony fan, I have the most to anticipate in respect of upcoming games and that MS didn't give me any reason to dust off my XB1 and while there were lots of pretty speeches about commitment to the industry, I have fallen for that before with MS.

In my opinion. I think it was a tie. Microsoft had a awesome conference and amazing 3rd party showings. Sony had the 5 great exclusives that carried their experimental conference. My two cents.

Sony had substance MS had flair.

In Sony's defence...they have already published so many games in the last few years where as Microsoft left a big void for their fans. And Sony doesnt lay their focus on E3 anymore in since they got their own big event the Playstation Experience. This E3 had no major surprises from both MS or Sony. I cannot state this enough...it is just no possible anymore to announce new groundbreaking games every year. Development cycles are waaay beyond where they were 5-10 years back. It seems like everybody here expects to get new games big games every year.

i admit, Xbox had the better presentation. PlayStation tried to be artistic, and it got a mixed reaction...

games wise, not counting the 3rd party-debuts, Xbox showed more exclusives in trailer/teaser form, while Sony showed us how their exclusives play (except for Death Stranding)...

Sony won on the exclusives front for sure, but MS showed off more games and their conference had much better flow (It was essentially Sony’s from previous years). Only reason I’ll say Sony was better is because they understand the definition of exclusive, and I’ll be be playing any of the MS press conference games I care about on either my PS4 or PC. Nothing they showed requires an Xbox.

I think it’s safe to say that Sony knows theyve won this gen by the numbers, so now they’re just coasting and letting their top tier exclusives do the talking for them.

Sony hands down, come on Microsoft had a good conference but besides a few exclusives and promises not brilliant. Let’s be honest most of you are never happy get a new interest.

Sony had a solid conference with their exclusive games. Microsoft cannot even get close to the quality of Sony's exclusive games.

Microsoft conference was better than their past conference but it was not better than Sony's.

Calling a bunch of multiplatform games "exclusive" is very misleading. Relying too much in games that ultimately will sell better on the competition is not a good point.

Xbox did not screw their conference as always. That's good but doesn't mean it was the best.

Sony has the games but Microsoft had the better conference.

next time hire some free sheeples sony like microsoft or ubisoft have done. give them white or orange tshirts and tell them to cheer non stop during the conference, no matter what.

objectively speaking though, microsoft ones was more entertaining than sony one. thankfully i did not stay up like last year ... 2 consecutive years were sony is kinda low "ballin".

2019 better be a PS5 only show, i don´t give a wet ### about TLOU2. Both games could not be more apart from each other ... first one a character driven narrative, second one so far a tomb raider rip off (better than the original) with lots of gore kills. no clickers? wheres joel ... what´s up with the face of her female friend, why the misandry? ...

i´m so done with stealth games, thusima at least has some sick gameplay with a grappling hook. Spiderman has some wicked action going on ... TLOU2 has the same stealth gameplay ... c´mon spice things up ND. thank god for death stranding ... best game of e3.

Hum... hard to choose... Xbox got a better press and got 1 or 2 surprises, but playstation got better games.
I will pick Xbox this year, cause sony is getting lazy and MS showed lots of enfort.

I feel like Sony is just in cruise control at this point. Don't get me wrong, I was blown away by the game play videos but aside from that and a couple game announcements it felt like it was missing something. Like what is going on with changing your psn id?

Sony had the games, but their conference was UTTER SHIT. Microsoft clearly came off as more polished and professional. Sony looked like a bunch of morons.

Ubisoft was better than xbox and sony.

Sony warned us that they will focus on 4 games and that is what they did, yet to me E3 is all about the surprises and there were none which is disappointing.
Let’s hope they have new announcements for games on or other conferences and expo.
Nevertheless the gameplay and graphics of TLOU2, Ghost, Death Starnding and Spider-Man looks amazing so I can’t fault them for wanting to focus on those games as I will definitely buy them.

Xbox has the same issue that they had for the last few years, no games and the usual rubbish recycled over and over again.
Frankly I’ll rather buy some of those games on PC

Take away MS 3rd party support and they barely have nothing as far as games. Sony showed a few good AAA title but did not have the 3rd party support MS had at their showing.

TLOU2 had way too much stealth gameplay. GOT looks amazing but the gameplay needs to be faster in pace and the gameplay mechanic just wasn't fluent enough. I hope spiderman has a skill tree in the game because I think the attacks move just seems a bit repetitive for my taste. Death stranding didn't seem like a complete game to me based on theE3 demo they showed.

Microsoft had the better show but not the better games and games is what its supposed to be about. Judging on pacing format and presentation alone it was Microsoft's year so far. Judging on games its no contest Sony wins hands down but that's nothing new.

The last of us 2 looked like an expansion of the first with one woman design being killed over and over again. Ghosts of T enviroments saved the boring gameplay and Shadows die twice was more interesting. Overall Xbox killed E3 but no gameplay of Cyberpunk was disappointing

SE: Loved the old school style, but not enough awesome stuff shown.
Bethesda: pretty standard presentation but my problem will always be that I'm just not into first person games and with that in mind, Bethesda has nothing for me 9 times out of 10. Wolfenstein being the exception to that first person rule and evil within being that 1 time out of ten.
Sony: by far my favorite content shown but their presentation actually pulled me out of my hype. Take away that crappy structure and put in just a dime a dozen format and Sony would have won.
MS: As far as current gen goes, winner by default. As far as the long game, the winner handily. MS has nothing for me this gen. Halo/gear/forza mean nothing to me. And those were pretty much all they had of note. They had the best presentation, but what has me most excited was the acquisition of the new studios, I wish more of the 5 were created rather than bought but 3 of they only made games for MS anyway so that makes sense. ninja theory has me worried but hopefully they don't become a GaaS, forced multiplayer house. I'll wait and see. But yeah, all in all MS did something I didn't think possible, I went in just looking for multiplats I'd be buying on PS4 but ended up seriously considering buying a next gen xbox, a console I thought I was done with. They may not have beat Sony in terms of what was shown but they made the biggest improvement.

PC, limited games etc. I'm not interested in and probably won't even watch their offerings. that just leaves Nintendo. But they're much like Bethesda, I mostly don't care for their games. Mario, Donkey Kong, pokemon don't mean anything to me. Zelda does but I have that on wii u. Maybe some xenoblade and Metroid will push them pass Square, but beating Sony or MS I doubt is in the ball park.

As an owner of both consoles, I am happy with both presentations.

Microsoft showed me a path for their future.

This was what I wanted, and it was what I got.

It's all about exclusives and Sony delivered again, TLOU2, DS, GOT and Spidey gameplay won it for Sony, top it of with RE2, Nioh2 and Control. MS had a good conference aswell but mostly 3rd party games and nothing exciting.

Both where meh conferences IMO Sony had better games showcased which will also come this year and next year. Whereas MS has shown nothing in the foreseeable future so Sony wins.

Kingdom Hearts and Shadows Die Twice were the best games in either show. So gamers win in general.

It was obvious Microsoft conf was better this year. But Fanboys will always see their show with blinders on. Now lets see what Nintendo has they have some really good exclusives to announce or show.

Pretty equal really both had ups and downs.

Sony if you care about what's actually important, which is the games. If you care about the superfluous "show" aspect, then I guess MS brought it this year, but I only care about games so...MS showed some great multiplats but Sony showed great exclusives even if there were no surprises.

Microsoft by any measure is losing this generation period and by a huge margin. No matter what they did during a single e3 confrences ( short of a huge announcement that didn't happen) this was never going to change. All they can hope for is that decisions they make now payoff next generation, I have my doubts about how committed they actually are for the long term.

Neither. Nintendo had the best presentation. A slew of amazing new announcements, gameplay from both first-party and third-party titles, and notes from developers.

This is not even a question, Sony just destroyed E3 showing an amazing REAL gameplay of 4 upcoming 1st. party games. Microsoft was just a bunch of promises, apologies and blah, blah....nothing concrete.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Is this like the 10th quarter in a row they're down 33% on hardware how is that even mathematically possible. You would think their mediocrity would Plateau
