The Elder Scrolls VI – Official E3 Announcement Teaser

Currently in pre-production at Bethesda Game Studios, the acclaimed developers of Skyrim and Fallout 4.

Relientk772903d ago

The most epic teaser! Glad it is coming eventually

Brave_Losers_Unite2903d ago (Edited 2903d ago )

The most useless teaser. There was nothing shown

Relientk772903d ago

Guess you don't like sarcasm...

AngelicIceDiamond2903d ago

Definitely a next gen title along with Starfield. Though its sad they never released the 6 one this gen.

NovusTerminus2903d ago

It was better then Respawn's Star Wars announcement.

Skull5212903d ago

Two Fallouts and no Elder Scrolls this generation? That kinda sucks...

At least I hope it's going to be on a brand new next gen state of the art game engine.

b163o12903d ago

Gotta agree with Skull521, its definitely a next gen game. I'm excited(weak teaser) but whatever it's been announced. Patiently waited for CP2077's "TRAILER" for 5yrs so no complaints, there plenty of good games coming out before....

techsquisite2903d ago

It was said it's coming after Starfield which was also said to be for next gen. What did you expect to see this soon?

Lionsguard2903d ago

It was a TEASER. Of course nothing is shown. It's just to tell everyone that it exists.

Jmanzare2903d ago

I would rather it be next Gen. Would you really want the next elder scrolls game to be on the same engine that skyrim was on? That's not how Bethesda does things

MAULxx2903d ago

It wasn't a teaser. It was an announcement.

thisismyaccount2903d ago

The scope, setting and it's gonna be 4 times bigger than Daggerfall!!! Seriously, it looks huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge ... if that's their intent. Medieval times elder scrolls? What if ES6 is actually Game of Thrones?

Vegamyster2903d ago

They should have waited in my opinion, we all knew it was coming so i dunno why they would announce it when it's still in pre-production, we might not see gameplay for another 2-3 years.

AngelicIceDiamond2903d ago

I mean...not really. Bethesda has been focusing on the Fallout series all this gen and remastering Skyrim. With literally no indication on E6 even existing. E6 will be the main focus come next gen however. Teaser trailers for next gen titles seem to be the thing so far.

Magnetar2903d ago

They probably announced it so every person that interviews them will stop asking.

Hroach6162903d ago

My thoughts exactly. Bethesda are usually really good about only showing things off within a year or less of an actual release. This def seems like it’s minimum 2 years away. Prob looking at closer to 4-5 years if it comes after starfield which itself is a “next gen” title they said.

ChrisW2903d ago

Lately Bethesda always teases in the the spring and provides by late fall or Christmas. It's most likely been in production shortly after ES5 was released

Let me guess. There are taking out races all together[since they were reduced to being cosmetic in Skyrim]. Taking out enchantments. And taking out conversation trees to "streamline" the game.

-Foxtrot2903d ago

I’m just hoping it’s not going to have any online shit

babadivad2903d ago

It's gonna have a Battle Royal mode

It's a next gen game so we won't see it until 2020 at the earliest but it should be awesome.

So who wants to guess how long we have to wait? He said Starfield is next gen and thats probably 2-3 years away so Im going to say Elder Scrolls in 2023

Magnetar2903d ago

2023-2025 would be my guess.

MAULxx2903d ago (Edited 2903d ago )

PS5 could be announced & released next year. It seems as though Todd is waiting for PS5 to be announced before talking about Starfield.

ocelot072903d ago

Starfield 2020 and Elder Scrolls probably 2022. However, It would be epic if they could somehow have it ready for day one launch with the PS5/NextBox just like they intended (but failed) with Oblivion and the 360.

Antifan2902d ago

I don't know what Todd meant by "Next Generation".. Next gen consoles, next gen engine? Can anyone confirm what he meant by this?

ZaWarudo2903d ago

It's probably a loooong ways out. But happy wth the announcement.

TyrellCorp2903d ago

Same, it took 7 years for a tease. And it’s still at least 5 more years away, but goddamn it was cool just to see it.

Stormswrath42903d ago

Why are people happy with an announcement of a game we already knew would eventually come? I'm not happy because I will not get in Elder Scrolls or even this star-filled before a whole nother the console is out... Just not happy at all

akurtz2903d ago

im hoping theyre gonna make a mage staff as a controller bcuz ima need one to walk and play by the time this releases.

salmonade2903d ago

I'm thinking by the time this releases we can play using only our minds.

Engines not the problem per say. If there is a “problem “ it lies in Bethesda’s design philosophy and direction.

They need to look at Morrowind and see what the progression should have been from there instead of the regression we got with the next 2 games. They weren’t horrible games but they could have been so much more.

-Foxtrot193d ago

Fallout 4 just felt too streamlined and accessible to me, the perk system was not as fun as it was in Fallout 3, not saying Fallout 3 didn't have issues but 4 just felt like a complete step back.

mastershredder193d ago

So the part where you just sold the same games for the last 10 years while you focused on 76 and merch, was not a reset from the "creative" aspect eh? How very Todd of you.

lukasmain193d ago

I bought Fallout 4 (I loved Fallout 3) at launch and I couldn't bring myself to finish it or even get close to finishing it. It was soooo damned boring and bland. I played on a very hard difficulty and I had hundreds of stimpaks. One of the only games I've played for a while and not ended up finishing it. I hated it. Just flat out hated it.

It will come out in another 1000-2000 days or so. I’d rather they remake Morrowind. After they added quest arrows, sprint button, making stats lesser and the big nerfs to spells Elder Scrolls has been too simplified. They could change that with ES6 but I don’t have much faith in modern Bethesda. I would love to be wrong

Wait until he hears about Star Citizen...
