THC CELL2907d ago

Do not skip. This game its amazing

cooperdnizzle2907d ago

Yeah you can’t really beat this game but okay. Epic is this game

THC CELL2907d ago

I work for a company called Game I did not beat it we was shown a demo just like ps access Limited but amazing demo,
We was shown one vr level and yes vr Is day one.
Creators from lbp and other games will Really like this game and if u don't want to create just dream surf.

Name Last Name2907d ago

I think this game will be great but its a little overwhelming for me.

THC CELL2907d ago

You will be shocked how much this game will really grab u and also make you think,
At some points I was thinking did people really make this level or are they just sony developers acting as lbp creators.

U can actually make a full game like fable, halo, or even Mario. Even in vr

Omnisonne2907d ago

Yeah being a concept artist, I can't wait to sink my teeth into this. They're doing something very unique.

Roronoa04112907d ago (Edited 2907d ago )

This game is going to be amazing after people get there hands on it and start making content! Hope they announce the beta at E3

FunAndGun2907d ago

Wow...truly endless possibilities.

THC CELL2907d ago

It very true and u easy to create than farcry or project spark
Halo forge mode was easy and u can see that sort of in dreams how it works
Dreams is just deeper create and I mean u can create anything

Larrysweet2907d ago

Sure u can beat it if it has a campaign...i mean its cool but u can just get unity ue4 wtever to create games

PixelOmen2907d ago (Edited 2907d ago )

Sure, but not only do those engines have a much, much steeper learning curve, there also isn't an infrastructure built into them to play other people's creations for free (outside of maybe some free stuff in the asset stores, but that's not really the same thing).

On top of that, there is also close to zero constraints for what you can do in those engines. That means that while they're obviously more powerful, they also require a lot more skill to create something half as competent as what you can create in this.

There's plenty of other caveats you would need to take into consideration as well, like optimization for example, or that fact that you need additional software and skills to create your own custom assets/audio. It's naive to compare the user experience of this to a full native game engine.

PixelOmen2907d ago

I was kinda on the fence before, but this looks great. I'm sold.

lol
its a fangame.

but nice either way

I don’t see this single level as a fan made but as a demo pitch from the studio to revive the franchise with a new game and to measure the want of PlayStation for a full game

Michiel1989169d ago

and they're gaging that by making a level in a dead game?

fr0sty169d ago

It's a great engine to quickly prototype and publicly test a game concept. Honestly, had they approached the business model differently, Dreams could have been very successful... They could have made their money from the creators, not just off game sales, if they'd made a system that lets you pay a fee to export your games/levels so that they are playable on any PlayStation even if you don't have Dreams installed. That would have opened up an additional revenue stream that would have made the game profitable. Charge an export fee, then take a cut of each sale for the games created... it gives financial incentive for developers to invest serious time into making games in that engine, which increases the quality of the projects made within it. Dreams was just ahead of its time.

Exthun170d ago

That's happening when you’ve got a great IP but no clue how to use it, while others are yelling at you to get to work on them.

Babadook7170d ago

Nice. This put a smile on my face. Good job to the Dreams developer.

Abnor_Mal169d ago

I always said that Dreams should have released on every PC/console capable of handling its graphical prowess, not like it was so much of a powerhouse anyways. It should have also had PSVR2 compatibility.

It’s a shame the game was put out to pastures so early in its life.

Babadook7169d ago

Yup. Should be on psvr2.

Miraak82 169d ago

It should have had kb/m support and no mp implementation was a mistake ..... I miss lbp , they should have just stuck with that franchise . If they didn't kill the servers it would still be installed on my ps , it was a game of endless fun

gaffyh169d ago

That's actually super impressive

Knightofelemia169d ago (Edited 169d ago )

Banjo Kazooie isn't the only franchise Microsoft is sitting on and doing nothing.

Miraak82 169d ago

Same can be said for Sony also , a couple years after the ps4 launched and after the success of TLoU they basically abandoned everything except for GoW, GT, R&C and MLB .. such a shame . Was never a XB or MS person but knowing all the franchises Sony will never touch again stings a lot

This just makes me want an official Courage game.

Such a shame media Molecule and sony didnt know what to do with this game. Now would be a perfect time to release it multiplat like helldivers 2. It needs a large community.

Dreams had potential but it really needed to get off of the PS4. It released so late in the gen when everyone was already wanting to move on to next gen systems. It should have come to PC, and a native PS5 version should have definitely released.

Knushwood Butt474d ago

I bought it Day 1 but the 'campaign' was pretentious and just didn't work for me. I had no intention of making content so was left to fumble through the user created content. Some good stuff, with the pig detective being the most memorable. However, just moved on to other stuff, and despite owning VR, never once played in VR either.

Knushwood Butt474d ago

Media Molecule always seem to be too ahead of the curve to have a big hit. Hopefully whatever they are working on now finds a big audience.

YoungKingDoran474d ago

For whatever reason/s they somehow dropped the ball hard with Dreams, our loss

Lionsguard474d ago

Dreams was fantastic, especially when VR was added. The things people managed to build was incredible. Some of the best VR experiences are still from Dreams experiences. The huge crux for it was being on consoles however and it was missing one thing that they didn't have back then and that we have now..... A.I.. With the advent of AI today, if they could have had Dreams running on PC and somehow got AI to work where we just typed in a prompt and it did things, it would have been a massive game changer, it could have just made the AI "Dream" and create its own things. It could have solved their problem of somehow getting one dream to just change into another one seamlessly. I really think Dreams deserves a second chance.

Rancegamerx474d ago

It was an awesome idea but even with tools that were supposed to make it easier to make a game, it was still so hard and convoluted. It tried to do to much at once. It would have been better to separate everything into easier parts, build the world, then the character's, then the music, etc. Not everything all at once. Some people understood it but most were overwelmed or confused.
