Which is the Fastest Next-Gen Browser?–and Why This Matters

When the tests were run again with TraceMonkey enabled, Webware found Firefox fastest, Chrome second, Safari next, and the IE 8 beta last.

As Stephen Shankland from Webware notes: "JavaScript is widely used in innumerable ordinary Web sites, and Internet companies have found that even small improvements in Web page responsiveness increases user interaction with their sites. A snappier response is better for everyone."

IE 8 beta because its Microsoft's new browser and you can't go wrong

PopEmUp6464d ago

how the heck you get your bubbles, did you just recently made you 50th account to boost back?

Keele6464d ago

They always forget Opera. Opera is the fastest browser.

kharma456464d ago

Opera is wrongly forgotten a lot, I would use it as my main browser if the tabs worked more like they do in FF.

KineticX6464d ago

You managed to forget the best browser out there. Firefox pay you to do that?

Guess without Opera is the only way FireFox is best. Last time I saw a proper benchmark, Safari was faster too.

KineticX6464d ago

Safari does lack features that's true.

Opera has the most features without need for loads of buggy, hogging addons.

BIGBAER6464d ago

And... the most enabled with full-set, powerful, standard features that are only buggy hopefuls on other browsers.

I am a Web Developer and use all browsers and platforms for testing. Opera is my choice for my primary browser. It's free, it's damned fast and it's loaded with features in a small footprint. It's everything I want or need in a browser---period!

But it fails with some plugins.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing61d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9261d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit61d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing61d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9261d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
