Yu Suzuki not on list= auto fail. Neither is Warren Specter, or Kitase. I mean is this a list of people they can name?

Pretty much. Seems focused primarily on developers who have been vocal or released something within the year. Not that the listed developers are not important, but I'm sure many could argue that some who are not present are more important than one or two on that list.

No kitase? Hell Nomura made the KH series and well as so many other games, lately he is making FF Versus, Silly list is silly but they do have the single greatest developer in there.

Thats only one game, for the "greatest gamemakers" honor i would only accept people who have at least a history of games, same with guitar hero .. one hit wonders don't count.

I think it's justified.

His online MMORPG sucked the lives of almost 11 million subscribers.

The Guitar game guy is unjustified. It's just a fancy Dance Dance Revolution in a different style.

Kojima changed gaming for me too, and I've been gaming since early 80's. And while games like Ms. Pac-man and Galaga hold a special place in my heart,I've always gravitated toward games with great characters and good stories.

I could always play games with great gameplay and bland stories, too... until I played Uncharted. Nate Drake is such a great new face and the game is like playing through an Indiana Jones movie. After playing Uncharted, it was hard to go back and play games like Ninja Gaiden Sigma with great gameplay and a boring arse story / character.

And where Uncharted made it hard to go back, MGS4 made it damn near impossible. For me, the game has to have it all now, great gameplay & great presentation.

Of course there are exceptions... If all mario does his next 17 games is save the Mushroom Kingdom from Bowser and keep breaking into castles to find the Princess, I'm all for it because that's the way a mario game should be

But Mario is one of the few exceptions, for me. MGS4 made it that way. And what's pretty amazing is some would argue that Kojima's best game is MGS3! If you haven't played that yet, you have done yourself a great disservice as a gamer.

I'll be getting a 360 soon, but not for Halo or Gears. I'm eyeing Mass Effect and some of those exclusive RPG's :)

The guy who made Guitar Hero and Rockband? Are you freaking kidding me? And yea, definitely Yu Suzuki has to be on there, I mean c'mon, Virtua Fighter, Shenmue, After Burner... Please take out the WoW guy too.

This was really weak stuff. I pity the person who created this list, his or her understanding of the videogame world is so limited I think we shouldn't be too harsh in criticizing it.

At least he, or she, got Miyamoto right.

be missing many, but most of those people on that list definitely are some of the greatest. Now, I agree with the statements on the people questioning the addition of Ron Pardo and Alex Rigopulos. These guys got lucky with just one type of game. Not exactly a qualifier of the greatest ever.

But then my list would be different to everyone else. I dont agree with the Rockband guy. Because like it was said by someone earlier on, its a glorified DDR.

IMO Nomura would definitely be in the list. His exclusion wasnt justified. IMO Kojimas other games are week, bar Zone Of The Enders. Take out MGS and ZOE and Kojima hasnt really done anything special. Mind You, Metal Gear is definitely a game that puts Kojima up there with the greats. His inclusion was justified.

It is sad that there arent any more Japanese devs in there. I dont know there names but games like Street Fighter 2 and stuff, there Creators deserve a bit more praise.

David Jafee? he might be quirky but he created GOW.
ICO and shadow of the colossus creator?
Hedia kamiya devil may cry, resident evil 2, okami, viewtiful joe?
