No, the Switch has probably proven that Nintendo is back on track, Labo is just a gimmick.

Aceman182957d ago (Edited 2957d ago )

For the kids yes, for most adults hell no lol. I'm cool with the Switch they can keep the cardboard lol.

Pancit_Canton2958d ago

Yup. Leave it to Nintendo to have gimmicks through each console generation.

EddieNX 2957d ago

We'll they have games for adults as well, sol if they can appeal to younger gamers then good for them.

CorndogBurglar2957d ago

I don't know why you got downvoted for this.

My daughter can't wait to get her hands on this. She's 8.

masterfox2957d ago

lol hell no, until it does a real gaming console it will be back, in the meantime is just a hype gaming company that plays with people's nostalgia.

Moonman2957d ago

And what is Microsoft doing besides backwards compatibility? Where are their Game Of The Year awards? Nintendo makes the most fun games in the business IMHO.

CorndogBurglar2957d ago (Edited 2957d ago )

Switch is a real gaming console though.

And don't give me this "it's a portable system" crap. It's both.

I got one for our daughter and we pretty much exclusively use it as a console. She only takes it with her on rare occasions.

Tbh who else could have sold a box of which the content is cardboard cutouts for £60-£70, Nobody imo

RpgSama2957d ago

That's as much true as it is sad.

CorndogBurglar2957d ago

You started your comment with "Tbh", yet you weren't very honest, were you?

It comes with a physical copy of the software with all of the games for each of the different projects.

So essentially its $60 for the software, which is the normal price for any new game, and about $10 for all of the other stuff, which is more than just cardboard cutouts.

So let's not act like Nintendo is selling a $70 box of cardboard cutouts, because that isn't true at all.

Ninjamonkey822956d ago

That is does but somebody with half a brain could put the projects together with out any need for the tutorials, in my mind you are butthurt because you got the product only to realize you could of made the projects within the box, with the box they came in :) .I was mearly pointing out how brilliant this concept is and that i could not see any other company sony, microsoft ect.. being able to pull something like this off, as for you i'am not sure what you where reading, anyway you wread way to much into it, no need to throw your'e toys out of the pram ;)

CorndogBurglar2956d ago (Edited 2956d ago )

Lol Right. Because you clearly weren't taking a shot at Nintendo for selling a box of cardboard cutouts for $60-$70. A comment that has been made so many times that's it's now cliche.

Also, you're response to my comment backs up what you meant by talking trash about the product. So let's not try to play the innocent game. You gave yourself away.

Lastly, nice try, but I don't have a Labo. I will be getting one for my daughter because she wants it. But I haven't gotten it yet. I'm just making logical comments about the price and what you get compared to all these people acting like Nintendo is just selling cardboard for $70. That's the equivalent of saying a PS4 or Xbox One is simply a $400 piece of plastic. As if it does nothing else...

Nintendo Labo is awesome - so why did it die?

It was imaginative, creative and unique. But ultimately, just another Nintendo gimmick. Tech demos.

They dabbled in it, made high profits on what is basically, expensive paper. AR Mario Kart will be following right behind it and Labo VR that they didn't fully support. Because the RC Kart only works for one game. Just like most of the Labo.

Power Glove and Virtual Boy will have a new friend in the closet to sit next to that eventually, will getting trashed or donated.

Inverno1987d ago

They were tech demos sold with pieces of cardboard. Anyone could see this wasn't anything more than just a one off thing
