BacklogCritic: "The bare bones of Darwin Project are enjoyable enough — functional, aesthetically pleasing, accessible, fun — and for $14.99 it’s a fair deal, but the game feels like it could be much more. It’s arrived a little late to the party, made an entrance, and now has to deliver on its attention-grabbing premise, so it’s going to need some serious love from its creators and its community to continue to stand out from the pack. So far, so good, but whether Darwin Project is one of the fit few that survives the battle royale craze remains to be seen."

Dwindling player base is resulting in developers ending servers.
Wow, that didn't take long. It's unfortunate to think of the work that went into this and the inevitable cost to the studio but this is another victim of an oversaturated genre now

"Hey Xbox players!
Ever since we launched Darwin Project on Xbox One via Xbox Game Preview, your support has been incredible. So much of your feedback has helped shape Darwin Project into what it is today, from Duo Mode to customization to new Tools, Powers, and Tiles―and this is just the beginning. Today, we’re proud to count two million of you in the Darwin Project Xbox community! To say that we are blown away by your enthusiasm would be an understatement. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in Darwin Project at this early stage."
Impressive. I haven’t played it yet but my son has and he says it’s a lot of fun. Gonna have to check this out in between Forza Horizon 4 sessions, if i can pull myself away from that one

The Darwin Project sees a continuation in the trend of cartoon style battle royale PvP. From that first sentence, some of you may already be rolling your eyes. Yet a relatively simple formula with a few great and original ideas sprinkled in for good measure ensures this frantic crafting survival game could well be a threat to Fortnite. Yes, believe it.
