A Way Out Developer Almost Signed with Microsoft

Josef Fares had very positive things to say about Microsoft and Xbox head Phil Spencer.

Gazondaily2872d ago

Interesting comments from Josef Fares. Its obvious Spencer cares about gaming and is passionate. That's why I laugh at all those that call the head of Xbox as nothing more than a PR mouthpiece. He just needs to start really delivering on the exclusive front for the Xbox- the one area that its really lacking

no need to laugh at people ... they disagree with you ... you disagree with them ...have a laugh together and live happily ever after we all want better games.

Gazondaily2872d ago

Well not literally laugh at them lol (sounds more aggressive than I intended) but you know...just find their sentiments a bit silly. But it's just banter in the end- each to their own.

zaherdab2872d ago

yea true .. people tend to get more emotional and go into a whole my console is better than urs arguments when each platform has its ups and downs ....

Razmiran2872d ago

Would you say the same about Aaron Greenberg?

yomfweeee2872d ago (Edited 2872d ago )

You can laugh all you want. But what is laughable is the games record under Spencer.

So people can say all they want about Spencer, but it is just talk. Just like Spencer does, all talk.

No results.

The fact that this guy signed with EA over MS? What does that tell you?

RamRod882871d ago

Did you watch the video? He says exactly why he choose EA over MS and it has nothing to do with MS in a negative way.

Kostche2871d ago

yeh, he cares, look at all the games he is showing.... OH WAIT

generic-user-name2871d ago

The same Spencer that says he'd never keep content away from gamers, referring to Sony and Destiny's deal for minor exclusive gear, meanwhile he pays to keep an entire game away from gamers (rotr). Yeah he's great.

Edito2871d ago

Where are the games he care about? In developers recycle bin that's how much he cares.

zypher2871d ago (Edited 2871d ago )

Maybe that's why people call him a PR mouthpiece? Because he speaks with all this passion about gaming, yet consistently comes up short when it comes to delivering games?

It's almost maddening. The Xbox One X is the most technically accomplished system ever made (for now anyway), yet there hasn't been a game worth buying one for since Forza Horizon 3.

I love how genuine Josef is.

Gazondaily2872d ago

Yeah it's pretty refreshing. And his comments re: Spencer come as no surprise tbh

will someone please give phil some games

jznrpg2872d ago

He needs ideas for games and ppl that can execute. They have studios just no good ideas that succeed

yomfweeee2872d ago

It is Spencer's job to find those creators. No one is going to give him anything.

SuperSaiyanGod412872d ago

You're statement is true but I'm sure behind it there is higher ups that call the shots which Phil Spencer has no control over. I'm sure it's the same with every other pr in a huge corporation. Alot of them are gamers at heart but the head boss always has the last saying.

Pancit_Canton2872d ago

Josef Fares: F*** IGN, Microsoft and Phil Spencer. I'm signing with EA.

RpgSama2872d ago

You know MS is in a bad place when people choose EA over you

Couldn't even bother to watch the video?

I still own those systems, and many games that were built for them.
Thank you for an amazing part of my childhood.
Rest in Peace Legend.

He joined SEGA in 1971, wow. The Mega Drive, Saturn and Dreamcast hold the best memories for me, more so the Mega Drive. Thanks for the memories, Hideki-sama.

gigoran84d ago

Sega's swan song, their best and most memorable console, the dreamcast. it will last for generations

ZycoFox4d ago

Dreamcast was a very good console, with some minor setbacks, no 2nd stick and could've used a bit more disc space. The main thing that let it down was support, the short time it was on the market it did still bring in a bunch of really good titles, if only it had another 2-3 years and more longer story based games as well as the arcade games.

I would say because of the above the Mega Drive / Genesis is probably their best, simply because of the wide range of support and amount of quality games.

Profchaos4d ago

Yeah also massive mega drive fan it's my favourite to

Loktai4d ago

there was a point in time where the DC was meant to have a MATROX gpu possibly, as well as other contenders and if it had along with a possible DVD drive and price hike it would be a totally different beast.

RaiderNation4d ago (Edited 4d ago )

Yeah, I loved the Dreamcast, but massive oversight not including a right analog stick. A very strange design decision considering that dual analog was already standardized by Sony during the PS1 generation. Virtual On was literally unplayable on the controller because of it.

1nsomniac3d ago

^ I had Virtua On and loved it.. what made it unplayable?

shinXseijuro3d ago

I was 8 years old when Dreamcast came out I don’t know for other people but it was the coolest thing to me when I could go play it at my older siblings . I finally bought my own Dreamcast around 2005 , when I was in high school and was old enough to save money . Had a blast with jet set radio , sonic adventures 1&2 , shuffle , code Veronica , Power stone 1&2 , crazy taxi . House of the dead Arcade style shooter. . I even had the reindeer bot CD for burnt games . Oh and I remember lending a friend a copy of SF alpha 3 Dreamcast with the box …. Dude never gave it back to me 🤣

See you later.. was nice knowing ya. 👋

Relientk779d ago

I really hope we don't see EA's "surprise mechanics"

1nsomniac9d ago

Firebreak and now this…. They really are on a streak aren’t they!

Something clearly happened to this company after Alan Wake 2. That game was brilliant and was unjustly sabotaged by marketing and haters.

Unfortunately, it seems to have absolutely destroyed a company we all agreed was once one of the best. Well done people. Well done.

INMATEofARKHAM8d ago

I hate to seem them struggling but I'm not going to support them if they only release their games on the Epic store.

1nsomniac8d ago

Would you have supported them if they only released their game on Steam?
