There are not many games nowadays that allow you to play split-screen with a friend on the couch. Couch coop is becoming somewhat of a rarity in recent gaming. The only time you’d sit down with a friend playing video games on the same screen is if you’re playing a fighting game.
A Way Out, It Takes Two, and Split Fiction sell 13m, 30m, and 7m units, respectively
Just a few days ago bought Split Fiction to play with my 8 year old daughter. We’re having a great time on it. Really good game. So intense haha
Well deserved. I personally think it takes two is better. But they're both great. SO much content, absolutely zero filler. No grinding, no collectables to drag out the game. Just constant new gameplay throughout a very very long game!

A co-op only game should never be a standard
What works for one game shouldn’t suddenly be applied for most other games
All they're saying is it set a standard for co-op games. Not games in general.
Though I'd say they already did that with their previous title Brothers: Tale of Two Sons.
I meant other co-op games. Those other games should always consider singleplayer and multiplayer in their design

I think co-op only games like this are good because it stops developers forcing in co-op into established franchises where it doesn't belong

It's definitely a shame traditional co-op has become so rare. There's just something special about having a friend next to you for cooperative play; it truly brings you closer to the experience.
Here's hoping this game helps to convince others to add a couch co-op option so that maybe we can have a traditional co-op resurgence.
