Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."

Today, Koei Tecmo announced its financial results for the full fiscal year 2025, related to the period between April 2025 and March 2026.
Sony made and sold product primarily meant to entertain. Generate profit as a result.
MS attempted to sell concepts primarily meant to generate profit. Considered that product was required eventually.
(Maybe they have. Maybe.)
Lets see not having to focus on following trends which is what Microsoft did with Halo, Gears of War 4 is just another rehash of the first 2 games, and Forza is the same yearly release and is the same game over and over again. Crackdown 3 is irrelevant because it's not even finished and has become vaporware. The Xbox brand has no luster for first party games because they don't do anything with them. Conker is dead, Banjo Kazooie dead, Perfect Dark Dead, Jet Force Gemini dead, Blink the time cat dead, Lost Odyssey unused, Fable is dead, and yet Xbox gets another Halo Wars RTS no one wants. So what that Xbox One X has more powerful hardware when the system isn't doing much as it is. PS4 has the games Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, Uncharted Lost Legacy, Ratchet & Clank, Until Dawn, Horizon Zero Dawn, Wipeout Omega Collection, Dreams, Days Gone, The Last of Us II, Concrete Genie, Shadow of The Colossus Remake, InFamous Second Son, Ghost of Tsushima, Spider-Man, God of War IV, Gran Turismo Sport, Gravity Rush 2, The InPatient, Firewall Zero Hour, Knack,Knack 2, The Last Guardian, MLB The Show '14,'15,'16,'1 7 & '18,Driveclub, Detroit Become Human, Tearaway Unfolded, Littlebig Planet 3,Death Stranding and of course there are other titles like The Last of Us, God of War 3, Journey Collectors edition, Medieval and even Gravity Rush Remastered in this list of Sony developed, and co-developed games. As for third party games that have become sellers and won't be on Xbox there's Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, Yakuza Kiwami 2,Hokuto Ga Gotoku,Tales of Berseria, Ni-Oh, NieR:Automata, Persona 5, Street Fighter V, King of Fighters XIV, Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, Blazblue Central Fiction, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT,Gundam Versus, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Eyes of Heaven, God Eater 2 Rage Burst, God Eater 3, Ni No Kuni II Revenant Kingdom, Shenmue III, Left Alive, Raiden V, Dragon's Crown Pro, Granblue Fantasy Project Re:Link,Lost Soul Aside, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, Odin Sphere Liefthrasir, 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim, and so many other games to mention that it would take a while to list all the other exceptionally amazing games. I know some Xbox fans will say "But we have the more powerful hardware with the Xbox One X" I say "Good for you" because frankly in case people forget the PS2 was the weakest of the 3 consoles during the 6th generation of gaming, and yet despite being weaker in hardware in considerable contrast to the OG Xbox it still manages to be the highest selling console of all time at 155 Million units. If people will use the argument that having stronger hardware is the most important thing, just remember the average consumer doesn't care about what system is more powerful. Instead in their mind they'll generally go by word and mouth. Because of that it's obvious that's why the PS4 outsold the Xbox One because of bad PR at the early part of this generation and it was $100 more. Lets go back 12 years ago when the PS3 launched, sure it was a system considerably more powerful than Xbox 360, but it was $599 at launch. Most gamers were like "Ah hell no i'm gonna get an Xbox 360" why because the system was cheaper to get and had a bigger library of games. Sony's biggest mistake was being super arrogant and thinking it's ok the PS2 sold 150 Million systems so the PS3 will do the same at $600
If Microsoft and the Xbox brand want to survive then start creating new studios, hiring new game developers and allowing them 100% creative freedom like Sony does. That's why Scalebound was cancelled, because PlatinumGames had a way they wanted the game developed and Microsoft kept telling them how to develop their game saying "Develop it this way". I'd be thinking really Microsoft you're gonna tell me how to develop my game when you're publishing it. Back off and let me develop my game.
I think I'm done with Microsoft now. I've had 2 Xbox one's with one of them I bought an S last year was fun collecting BC games and rare replay was mint, but always end up letting it go
