Remaking "Mario and Luigi" series games on a system just a generation or two ahead was already iffy, but remaking a GCN title for a system that is equal to lesser powerful, with worse resolution, is borderline ridiculous.

mikeslemonade3003d ago (Edited 3003d ago )

The 3DS is dead. This should be a Switch title exclusive.

Einhander19713003d ago

Looks pretty damn good to me 3DS still a great little system.

Dimi19783002d ago

And best value for money!!!

strayanalog3003d ago

That's pretty impressive for a 3DS, at least in my opinion. As a proud owner of the original title for the Gamecube, which I actually got a week or more before the system released, I'm happy a new generation will get to enjoy Luigi's Mansion, but still so very jealous they got Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. Well, at least both are on one system now.‎

I don't know if I could say it's impressive as much as I should say it's expected you have to consider you're also talking about a system that released in 2001.

So the 3 DS was even running the Resident Evil 5 engine so I don't actually think that something like Luigi's Mansion wasn't possible on 3 DS simply that we just dont see GameCube ports often. The 3 DS would easily have to be more powerful than the GameCube as I would find it almost impossible for it not to be.

If the PlayStation Vita can play Uncharted in Killzone I'm pretty positive the 3 DS can play a GameCube game, especially if the DS could play an N64 game in the PSP could play Playstation 2 and PS1 games and so on.

Luigi's Mansion in my personal opinion is one of the most underrated Nintendo games that is released over the years. I personally don't like that the sequel on 3 DS goes by levels as I actually want the third game if they ever make one to be similar to the first like one big mansion you just explore.

Good point, Edmix. I suppose I'm taken back a bit to see a Gamecube title running on a handheld. Hard to believe the GCN was basically ten when the 3DS launched. I think I forgot how old I am, man.

Luigi's Mansion is definitely underrated! I sadly haven't played the sequel, but here's hoping a third title is announced so I can jump back in. Hey, m‎aybe Luigi's Mansion 3 will be like Ghostbusters with an optional four player on Switch. Could be cool. If that's the case, ‎I hope to see you on there in some fashion.

I completely understand it I actually think people only have that assumption because of happenchance not because of Any thing based on technology you have to consider a lot of us only have this belief because we just didn't see GameCube games put on handhelds.

But I never believed that's because they couldn't perform simply that a Nintendo just decided not to. I feel that Luigi's Mansion doesn't get the love that it deserves that such a solidly crafted game that I'm surprised it took so long for a sequel to get made I literally thought we are probably never going to get a sequel to that game.

The concepts behind Luigi's Mansion are literally almost Resident Evil lol a bunch of locked doors, puzzles ,backtracking equipment upgrade etc

Loved Luigi's Mansion on Gamecube, glad 3DS owners get to experience the smash hit. Wish the game came to Nintendo Switch.

Luigi’s Mansion deserves a full blown expanded upon remake in my opinion. I’d like to see more rooms and post game content similar to the mirror mode but I’m unsure if Nintendo would even consider it.

I fully agree as I love these games. Luigi's Mansion on Gamecube was a fun experiment to fill the launch window but it ended being up a wonderful game with charm and great graphics.

At this point I am waiting for the rumored Luigi's Mansion 4 for Switch 2, which -if Mansion 3 is any indicator- would be massive and amazing looking

RaiderNation497d ago (Edited 497d ago )

Nah, Id much rather see new games. Just add Gamecube games to NSO.

Michiel1989496d ago

same, the remake era has been fun but I rather see sequels now that just pay homage to their previous titles instead of remake after remake

RaiderNation496d ago

Or, heaven forbid, new IP's!

cthulhucultist496d ago

They should have at least included Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader, Rebel Strike and Eternal Darkness in that list

Redgrave496d ago

Eternal Darkness should be up there unless it's mired in licensing problems.

Luigi's Mansion, bc 2 and 3 are there.

Metroid Prime 2

Star Fox Adventures & Assault

Warioworld

I enjoyed LM3 well enough but honestly, I was expecting more. I want to see Nintendo get a little more ambitious with IP's like Luigi's Mansion. Expand the dev budget for a game like this and increase production value. I want to see LM expand into a true free-roaming "open world" type of game. Break away from the fixed plane level design and give Luigi the same kind of freedom Mario has in say, Odyssey.
