Devil May Cry Remake Teased By Hideki Kamiya

From PlayStation Universe: "Platinum Games’ Game Design guru Hideki Kamiya really does like to tease fans of his previous work.

Kamiya has worked on stellar titles such as Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Okami, and Bayonetta, and holds a clear fondness for the work he’s done."

Im on board with a remake, DMC1 is one of my all time favorite action games.

_-EDMIX-_2980d ago

Agreed. A classic. Would love to see that happen one day, hopefully he is really hinting at it happening

NecrumOddBoy2980d ago

Is this the Bluepoint remake?

Elda2979d ago

I hope that's true instead of Demon Souls.

-Foxtrot2981d ago

Remake it, add onto it like the RE Remake and fix DMC2 when they remake it...hell tell a new story if it makes a better overall story.

Nebaku2980d ago

DMC2's problems couldn't even be fixed with a remake. By the time they actually fixed it, it would be a completely different game.

-Foxtrot2980d ago

Yeah and? No great loss

Make a new game...Reboot-Remake

Nebaku2980d ago

@-Foxtrot "Yeah and" what? What studio in their right mind would fully remake a hated game, just to at best get a mediocre sales return, when they could just simply do something new better the first time?

FallenAngel19842980d ago

The dude left Capcom for a reason. I don’t see why he’d work with them again

_-EDMIX-_2980d ago

But we're talking about a different circumstance if he's remaking something he's making something with the concept of knowing that it is clearly going to be made to be like the original as opposed to Capcom telling him what he can or can't do with a sequel.

For all you know the agreement with Platinum Games to contract the next game might work better for them then if they were working directly under Capcom. You have to remember when they're making a remake their building on a concept that exist so they're clearly is going to be in agreement that it must actually be Devil May Cry we're not talking about Devil May Cry 5 where Capcom may have numerous disagreements on where to bring the series.

KaaF2980d ago

Working with them =/= working for them. Plus, he's the one asking for it.

Segata2980d ago

Well, he teased on Twitter he had a hand in the Switch port of Okami or at least invited to Capcom to play the Switch version as shown on his twitter. Business is business and if they want to hire PG to work on DMC I don't think PG would turn it down. Still pays the bills. and could lead to more collaborations.

_-EDMIX-_2980d ago

yoooooo if they contract Platinum Games to have them do the Remake that would be absolutely insane!

InKnight7s2980d ago

Platinum doing DMC? Isn't that why the creator ran off? I mean to create real hack slash experience "Bayonetta". I loved DMC but the gameplay os so typical and there is no reason to not upgrade it to real next level as we see in the cutscenes.

_-EDMIX-_2980d ago

He likely still likes DMC, simply not Capcom. Bayonetta is like Evil Within, yes, it is the creation of the original teams somewhere else, but I don't think it means if offered to do a remake of another series they worked on is off the table 100%. The fact that he is even hinting at it very much shows they still like the IP, simply not the issues with the publisher.

Segata2980d ago

PG was created because they were fired by Capcom after Capcom closed down Clover. PG's original name was Seeds.

_-EDMIX-_2979d ago

@Sega- thats exactly how I see it as.

I don't think they'd be against working on DMC, their issue with Capcom was never about hating DMC or anything as much as it was just business.

WeAreLegion2979d ago

DMC 3/4 are still much better hack n slash games than Bayonetta 1/2. They're all great, but Itsuno really outdid Kamiya on his own series.

_-EDMIX-_2979d ago

we are- I agree with you about Devil May Cry 3 but I believe they're both great series.

Work on Onimusha Remake first.

Capcom just released the HD remastered.

_FantasmA_2980d ago

Yeah Onimusha would be a fresher idea considering its been dormant for so long. We've been getting more than enough DMC and DmC and remastered remasters and repackaged regurgitation that I'm all little worn out.

_-EDMIX-_2979d ago

I agree but Capcom is trying to go with what they know works I guess.

I'd LOVE a Onimusha remaster, just to at least get more attention to the series.

30fps sucks. Especially on an OLED.
