They lived in a world where development costs weren't as high. That's the thing- people need to factor in the massively increasing costs of development.

You still get a lot of game for your money and the black and white way so much of the community views MT's as evil doesn't help. And this perception of their "rich lifestyles" is just evidence of the skewed way people view things.

Not all MT implementation is evil, overly-intrusive or prohibitive of a good gaming experience if you don't prescribe to them.

Higher development cost huh??.... Funny how Horizon zero dawn released last year as one of the amazing AAA games without microtransactions or loot boxes... just one optional DLC and the Dev are perfectly fine.

You can't apply the same rule for all devs. GG are a bigger outfit with Sony's gargantuan backing marketing wise etc.

Plus, not all games aim for the same thing.

Naughty dog are also massive and charge for MTs. It depends on the game.

Higher development costs are not a figment of anyone's imagination. They are a real thing. Devs trying to maximise the most to cover costs AND make profits isn't something that should completely be balked at.

Point blank sales are enough, there are tons of devs/pubs who don't touch MT's/LB's and yet they get by very nicely.

Whether its development costs, publisher costs, luxury lifestyles, the gamer is now paying for it at absurd prices and it needs to stop and those who havnt yet woke up need to.

Wait till next gen when things get even worse and were left paying for even more, there greed and your ignorance will destroy this industry at some point..

@septic, so single player games don't count then? Theres a hell of a lot more games without mt's than you are making out. Think you need to watch some of Jim Sterlings videos on mt's in full price aaa's. Its a cash grab by greedy devs and to say that they are somehow 'neccesary' is absolute crap.
