Not really. It already feels like there's 5 times more choice in genre and quality than last gen, especially between PS4, PC and Switch. AA, indie and first party games on each have hit the spot in the past couple of years for me. Some great RPGs have appeared, strategy games have got a little better (if DLC ridden), puzzle games and a few games that are challenging, rather than the usual autosave to win fests.

Just need to stop AAA games being open world, perk chart ridden copy and pastes of each other with tagged in multiplayer modes and we'll be sweet.

I dunno it's pretty creative and innovative in terms of how MT are being implemented into games.

And I would say if anything the opposite is true. It's this generation that Vr is a part of. This Gen is also where game pass and ps now started.
The tech in the Xbox one x is also very innovative.
Also hellblade is a prime example of not only creativity in terms of story telling but also innovation through their use of FMV and 3d audio

Look at the innovative indie games. Persona 5, Xenoblade, Zelda, Mario, Bloodborne and many others. How many games from the ps3 and 360 days hold up now?

I'd have to say I agree. Most of the big name titles are just copy and paste of other titles that already exist. The only games that have blown me away this gen were Wolfenstein and Sunset Overdrive.

I'm probably the only one waiting for a new Fight Night, Splinter Cell, and Midnight Club. One thing we can agree on, is that the console community is a bunch of hateful people. Toxicity by System of a Down can be easily dedicated to the console community.

I think you're on point. This generation has just been lackluster and overall a hype infested, social media generated hype.

Switch is innovative.

Something tells me that the writer doesn't like Uncharted 4. Which is fine if it's your opinion but calling it a "fact" is just silly.

If anything, Uncharted 4 was definitely quite a change from the other 3. The game had a more serious tone, the story was a lot deeper than before, the second most important character was new to the series, it was many hours longer, the game introduced vehicle gameplay, the grappling hook in combat and traversal, vastly more open sections and more.

Most people loved Uncharted 4, but I've seen some people who were disappointed by it. I think that says a lot about how different this game is compared to the others.

I do agree that games are lacking innovation, but that would mainly come down to genres such as open world, RPG and multiplayer games. If anything, a storydriven game at the quality of Uncharted was a breath of fresh air to me compared to all the same repetitive open world games I'd been playing this generation up until that point.

This gen is great, we have quantity AND quality. Plus the casual market is dead which is a good thing (and MS didn't see it coming which is also an excellent thing).

If you want innovation go play No Man's Sky or any number of Steam games tackling depression or priviledge. I'd rather play games to be entertained.

Uncharted 4 is a swashbuckling action adventure masterpiece. Never have i played a more epic and fun single player game with such immersion and detail and exploration for a more linear game like this. It took me 18 and a half hours to finish it the first time and 21 hours on crushing. Srsly sucks to be you man ..

Wuchang is great. Nine Sols didn’t have a physical copy so I never played it but I’ve heard good things so I will check it out. I stopped playing sports games many years ago when before the card dlc’s or whatever they’re called.
