let's hope a patch can address any of the issues mentioned here. Sounds like it could still be a solid experience though.

Maybe, but at the end of the day you’re trying to run a full console game on a mobile gpu and the cpu is even less powerful. There’s no brute forcing anything. This is why I don’t consider the Switch a true console... and I own one. It’s always going to be inferior running real AAA multiplatform games.... even ones from last gen, imo. It’s strengths are first party games designed to run on the switch speficially. Anything else run on the PS4 or x1 unless you just reeeeally need it to be portable.

meh, considering the size of the thing it does a pretty good job. I mean this thing is way more powerful than a PS3 or 360, so no reason why it shouldn't run it to an acceptable level. The author even mentions that the framerate issues dissapears if he/she reloads the mission. So clearly it's not a constant technical thing, just some optimization that needs to be done.

I don't discount the fact that the Switch is inferior tech wise, but at like 1/20th the size, I'm guessing it should be.

The publisher said they are gonna use a patch to update it. Also, if the Switch can run Doom, Skyrim, etc. Also Zelda and Xenoblade. This game will be no problem.

"Even from last gen"

Wrong, Skyrim on Switch runs at 900p vs 720p last gen. In addition it has higher res textures, better shaders on objects/water plus much better frame rate

Getting a bit tired of these games not being fully fixed or running well at launch.

The Rise of Payday and Its Fall

GB: "Of course, Payday 2 has had its fair share of ups and downs as well, in spite of the success that it has enjoyed. For starters, the disparity between the game’s PC and console versions is a major issue that plagued the game for years on end, thanks to the frustrating optimization issues across platforms brought about by the Diesel Engine, which the game was developed on."
